We recently completed a 10 day driving trip from Barcelona to Seville and on to Madrid. After several days of churches and museums we decided to spend a night on the Mediterranean. We are delighted we did. Hotel RH Bayren is situated right across from the beach, and an easy walk in either direction to food and shops. They offer very accessible in and out parking. A very wide, sandy, impeccable beach is right out the front door and is also a pleasure to walk on. Gandia is almost exclusively a Spanish resort and is very low key and relaxing. There were several large Spanish senior tour groups staying there, but they were very quiet and did not overwhelm the place. The hotel offered a modern room with all the amenities. The hotel has a bar and cafeteria. A real positive was the price included breakfast which was unbelievable in it's organization variety and quality. They even had a do it your self Mimosa bar for those who desired a more brunch like experience. (breakfast is served until 1!am.) The hotel also offers dancing on Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 9pm. I think the charge was a reasonable 9EUR.or so.
We probably will never be in this area again, but if we are, Gandia and Hotel RH Bayren are sure bets for our stay. It was just delightful.
