Our family (2 adults; 2 children) were participating in several Gold Coast Marathon events, so we stayed in a 3 bedroom self contained apartment for 3 days around the race.

This complex's greatest asset is that it is right on the beach. The majority of Main Beach Apartments are across the road from the beach (despite what their websites say or depict). The views are amazing - ocean and beach for miles either way. We loved sitting on the balcony or in side when it got too cold and watching the action on the beach e.g. fishing, surfers etc. We also loved the peace and quiet. This place or Golden Sands (also on the beach, although I think some apartments in this one are at the back on the road) will be our Main Beach choice from now on.

The detail - we had a 3 bedroom unit. It was scupulously clean and well stocked e.g. kitchen utensils, glasses etc. Each Apartment is individually owned and there is a Manager on-site. The decor in our apartment was not designer perfect (the owners must like blue) but compared to other places we have stayed it was very good. What we really liked was the good storage space in every bedroom, the large and comfortable couches and the high quality TV and DVD. The bathrooms were clean and well designed.

The pool looked nice and was apparently heated but we didn't go in. There are other Main Beach apartments with better facilities e.g. tennis court, spa and some that may be bigger or have 5 star fitouts but if you want to walk out of your door and be on the beach and have those unlimited beach views then this is the place.
