We have just returned from a super week in this hotel. The staff were very attentive, especially the children's kids club staff, who were very enthusiastic. The entertainment in the evening was a mini disco at 8pm, followed by very enteraining shows. The all-inclusive hotel certainly delivered some good food, drink & a lovely dining room. We shall return.

After reading the bad reviews, I went to the hotel thinking that I paid too much for my stay... But actually NOT, I really enjoyed the place. The room had a terrace and you could see the sea, some other rooms overlook the garden and the paths of the hotel, the room was clean, but the air con wasn't working very well.
When I went at the end of Sep 10, due to not many ( or enough ) guests staying there, the Andaluz restaurant was closed during the weekdays but open during the weekend. The food in the Main restaurant and the Andaluz restaurant was good, big selection in the salad bar, the hot food was a bit more average, but everyday was different, so I never repeated the same dish. There are two outside bars plus the pool bar ( yet again at the end of sep, the pool bar was closed, so no swimming to get a drink!).
There are two swimming pools, with sunbeds, but if the hotel was full, I can see there could be a problem to get a sunbed, however, not a prob when I was there.
The entertainment was good, the guys did try to have fun while teaching salsa lessons, bingo, and every night at the theatre with their shows.
I would recommend it, I had a good and relaxing time, all the personnel were polite and the things we asked for, were dealt efficiently and quickly. Well worth it!

This is a beautiful resort with great staff, immaculately clean. Food was excellent and we really liked the garden and the pool - but it´s made for families with small children. So if you´re looking for a quiet getaway: go somewhere else! If you have small children, it´s perfect. You can go everywhere with your stroller and kids are really welcome

We (two adults / 3 and 7 year old girls) went to this hotel last year and enjoyed it so much we returned this year.

We flew into Malaga airport as we stopped in Mijas first and drove the 2.5 hours to Chiclana later in our holiday. The nearest airport for Chiclana is Jerez.

Rooms:
The rooms are clean, but I think they're starting to 'show their age' now and would benefit from a paint and re-furb. The rooms have a fridge and a hairdryer. The hairdryer isn't at all powerful and if we return I will bring my own.

Food / Drinks:
These are amazing, loads of choice! Pasta bar, fish bar, salad bar. Great puds, fruits and cheeses. Something for everyone! We mainly ate in the main restaurant but lunched in the 'grill' a couple of times. We never tried the Italian restaurant. Drinks are amazing and include cocktails, Cruzcampo beer, all spirits and liquors, all branded soft drinks, slushes and tea/coffee/chocolate with cream. There are no queues at any bar and some drinks you can help yourself to like beer/wine/sodas. You will want for nothing!

Pool and outside:
Pools are great with swim-up bar, kids pool / playground is nice too. Gardens are beautiful and well kept. We arrived at 12pm and just managed to get a couple of beds around the pool, but there are plenty. Towel hire is available with a 10euro deposit.

Beach:
Stunning beach just down some steps from the hotel.

Entertainment / Kids club:
The free kids club is amazing and the staff are really friendly. They facepaint, draw and organise a 'show' with the kids as the stars. Mine loved this. The staff do speak English, but mainly speak German / Spanish. This may put English-speaking kids off attending, but my girls loved the Riu club and went to the mini-disco everynight.
The evening entertainment ranges from a Grease show, which is fantastic to a Spanish dancing show. Personally we prefered the shows by the in-house animation team as they were so professional. Get in early though (by 9pm) or you wont get a decent seat!!

Other:
Gym onsite is basic with a few stations, but no treadmill. Mainly Spanish/German people attend this hotel. There's a games room / nightclub/internet cafe. We didn't use these. We booked about a couple of months before we arrived and got it a lot cheaper than first advertised - 211euros a night for all of us.
