Just returned from a week in Zante ( 15-23 Sep 2011), I was very impressed with the apartments ( for the amount we paid), the pool was excellant, the hosts were great.
And we were far enough away from the noise for it to not bother our sleep.
All in all i would highly recommend these apartments.

I never understand the negative comments people put up, these apparments are cost effective, so they wont have 3/4/5 star quality, but for what you pay there excellant.

we went on this holiday as a family to enjoy the pool, "short" walk to the beach (about 45 minutes) and friendlyness of the hotel overall.

Apartments: Very basic, not a fully equiped as said on the website, not an apartment you would like for self catering as no toaster or microwave or oven, beds nearly on the floor and very hard, shower towels as small as hand towels, i suggest take your own or you will be told to walk to the strip and buy your own, water comes through the middle of the floor when you are having a bath or shower, water doesnt get hot until later on in the evening. safety deposit box, air con at an extra rate, televison with 1 channel and no controls.

facilities: Pool table 1euro and its ripped and wonky, the inside "fully air conditioned" does not get used, the pool is immaculate which is good but the owner needs to worry a bit more about the appartments than the pool and maybe have the pool open a bit later the 7 o'clock. the bar had food and drinks of a large selection and also a reasonable price, the owners yianni and Eleanor, well eleanor was nice and welcoming but made sure you new the rules as soon as you got there whereas yianni on the other hand was Rude, Arrogant, always shouting needs to relax a little, moans if you dont shower properly befpre getting in the pool and likes raking in the money by charging 40 euros for an extra day which most customers thought they had already. the had 2 sons who had very good character and loved to play with the other children, lets hope they dont grow up to be like there dad!

it is a good place for younger people that just want to be by the pool then go out at night as its only a 10 minute walk from the strip but not good for families that want a beach holiday as the beach is said to be 600m from the appartments but is actually around 30 minutes away on a power walk.

there are some lovely views from these apparments but dont get to cosy at night because you might get woken up by some noisy itailains or quad bikes at 2-3 in the morning.

there are some nice resturants to go to and some good excursions to go on and also a good evening in the zakynthos trown seeing the marine and gift shops.

i would visit greece again but maybe not zante it wasnt a family place.

Overall we had a good holiday but we had to make the enjoyment for the children there is no evening entertainment and not a bbq every week.

having arived on the island to be told Cava Dora had been overbooked by cosmos we were taken to no name apartments, adjoining Borsalino , our first thoughts where oh god , Lagunas !!! but very quickly these were washed away by the hosts Yannis and Elena of the Borsalino, they make you feel so welcome, part of the furniture, its a home from home, now the pool is Yannis pride and joy, and ok some may think hes strict by asking you to shower before entering the pool, but believe me when you see the pool and compare it with any other pool on the island you will realise why he does.. its absolutely spotless, its cleaned and chemicalled daily, and is crystal clean.. so we had no problems at all showering, as we spent a lot of time in the pool and adored its crystal waters... the food is spot on, top notch, pancakes for breakfast a must, as is bacon butty. Yannis does a boat trip, where he takes you out , around the caves, turtle spotting, over to turtle island, and back, takes about 4 hrs, but is well worth it, and all for only €20 pp, he only takes a max of 8 people on the boat so you really feel you get a personal service, he takes his time to educate you answer questions, and talk to you, not like the commercial boat trips which are 50-80 people...
We loved this accommodation so much, that we are now requesting we are moved back, as we where moved to Tsilivili by cosmos, but have missed Yannis and Elena and so much we are on our way back, if cosmos wont pay, i will !
other things that make it nice are the fact there's only 10 rooms at Borsalino, and probably 15-20 at no name next door, so youll never be mobbed like some hotels..they have regulars that have been coming back for years, such as Les and Connie, now they have been coming back for 20 years, so if anything gives you a glowing report that does.. I will certainly come back again another yr, just because a address has Lagunas in its title it doesn't mean party party, if you want party party a quick taxi or a 10 min walk and your at the strip, Yannis and Elena have built this business up from scratch and like to please, but as this is Yannis's castle, his home, he does expect respect, which is to be expected, he is a man whom wears his heart on his sleeve, he is the owner, the pool cleaner, the manager, the cook, the captain of the boat, the evening entertainment, he is the complete greek experience, and with his wonderful wife Elena they certainly make you feel at home.

Just arrived home after a lovely stay at the Barsalino appartments. Room are very clean and comfortable. The pool is Yiannis pride and joy ..and boy you can tell..it is crystal clear clean..described by our rep as probably the cleanest on the Island, all guests are asked to shower off sun oils and lotions before entering the pool..its no hardship..and keeps the pool immaculate. Elena and Yiannis looked after us well and their two boys were a joy..a credit to their proud parents. The food at the snack bar is delicious and very reasonably priced..the local draught beer is ice cold.
Laganas can be loud at night but the appartments are in a perfect location, far enough away to get a really good nights sleep..yet within a comfort walking distance.
