“Couldn't fault their efforts!”

When me and my friend first said we was going to Zante we were meant to be going to the Plaza after a mess up with our travel agent we moved our hotel to the Village Inn.

I am very grateful that I didn;t read these reviews before I went on my holiday as I would of been very nervous! I had an amazing time and their efforts were from their heart.

When we first arrived, there was no reception and we must of looked like muppets trying to find where to find someone! This did not phase me and my friend, who needs a reception really? i am a casual person and having the reception at the bar fely lovely and laid-back.

The hotel manager did take the lead name passport (common in most places now) and then we was shown to our room, we have a shower head that we had to hold ourselves, at first this kind of annoyed me but then 2 mins down the line, I find this highly Greek and took it in my holiday stride!
The room was very clean and safe, lovely views of the mountains and very so clean! We had cleaners everyday that cleaned from top to bottom and very so polite to us (even when we were still in bed with a hangover!)

Yes, the location is not great and as we were on a clubbing holiday it did feel like a long time to walk but if you're going on holiday with the right company the time flies and the walk seemed like nothing when you're all having a laugh! You cannot complain about the heat, don't go in peak heat time if you cannot handle it. The manager was great, notied that one night we was going out and gave us a taxi number that we could trust and told us to stay safe and have a great evening! Top notch!

me and my friend were very fussy eaters and weren't much to the Greek cruisine, Dennis (Hotel Manager) was superb and gave us small poritions of Greek food alongside food that we actually wanted as he said in his own words "I want you to try our food too!" i thought this was great, I got to try their food and if I liked it, I could have it and if i didn't I could pick my own food!

Yes their was a small charge for air con (Isn't this normal?) and also the safety deposit box (also normal...), this did not phase me, after all their didn't even ask for a deposit off us when they knew I was on a clubbing holiday, FANTASTIC.

Music is played around the pool all day, which is always nice and there's a calm essence to the place, i didn't feel intimidated. even though I was on a clubbing holiday I wasn't surrounded by 18 year old (same age as me) so when i'd had a night out I could come back and relax without having loads of other people screaming!

I loved the staff, when I commented on how nice the ladies cake was that she made for breakfast every morning, on our last day she came over to our room and gave us a loaf of her cake each!
All in all a brilliant holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to go back their again!

“value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

I stayed here with several friends for a week all inclusive. The food was nice fairly basic, had salad every evening, with a pasta dish, a meat dish and wedges or rice. Its only a small selection due to the hotel size its understandable but none the less something for everyone. The pool is a small pool but rather deep not ideal for children, it was cleaned every morning and we found no problem getting a sun bed.
The room we stayed in were rather basic. two single beds with a double bed between them and the bathroom was a toilet and what i can describe as half a shower just shower a head on the wall while u stand in half a bath with no curtain flooding the floor. The rooms got cleaned daily although the floor could have done with being cleaned as it wasn't the whole time we stayed so you found yourself walking in sand constantly. overall the room was fine as all we needed it for was to sleep. we didn't need to purchase air-con despite it being 35 degrees all day the room wasn't to hot.
The all inclusive drinks consisted of pretty much everything you want. they had most drinks but of their kind such as peach snapps, apple snapps, amaretto, rum, vodka, whiskey, gin, apple sours, tequila, wine, beer and so on. so you have a wide selection its just proves a hassle to the staff when you want one despite it being all inclusive. I would find myself stood at the bar waiting to be served and everyone would walk up and get served before myself the same happened with my friends, we were also told we could only get one drink at a time but we would see other people walking away with three in theirs hands. this may be due to the fact that we took advantage of the drink before going out but its called all inclusive for a reason.
the bar was kept clean. it was 1.50 euros a game of pool and 3 euros for 30mins on the internet. water was always available on the bar in a ice bucket so you never had to Que for it.
The hotel is realistically around a 30 min walk to the center of laganas and 40 to the beach. we often got taxis which are charged at 6 euro to the center and also the same back to your hotel. Also opposed to going to laganas beach which was busy we would get a taxi or 8 euros to kalamaki beach. Taxis are just outside the hotel by the supermarket and are always available at any time!!
overall we had a wonderful holiday for what we paid as we went on a drinking holiday as did most people we found staying at the hotel so i would say this is not a family hotel during peak season. although the night staff will keep all the drunks under control!!

“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Stayed at the Village last week and had a wonderful time. The staff were very welcoming and helpful especially Dennis. The food was good, the pool lovely, never struggled to get a sunbed and the room was spotless. This hotel is ideal if you want to chill out. There is low volume music playing until about 11.30pm but no entertainment which is exactly what we wanted. The beach is a 30 minute walk but it is a straight road and you can stop off at the pubs on the way for a drink. This was ideal after consuming too much food on the all inclusive! I do not understand the negative comments I read before going and must say they are absolutely rubbish. It was 35 degrees and we did not need the aircon as the room was airey and we sat down by the pool for most of the day. We did not watch the TV as you do not go on holiday to watch TV! Overall There was no issue with getting more than one drink and service was always with a smile. I would definitely go back to the Village Inn. Great holiday.

Room Tip: We were in room 607 and it was huge with a massive balcony overlooking the pool.

“really badly run hotel!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

This hotel is run really bad. The staff are absolutely horrible and wont help with anything. We were all inclusive and were made to feel terrible when we went to the bar for drinks (they look at you as much to say "your wanting ANOTHER drink"). The food was the worst iv had infact we only ate here a couple of times and had to eat out the rest of the time as we could not face the food, this cost alot of extra money we did not expect to be spending. The rooms were ok but had wires hanging out from the ceiling and the beds were like lying on concrete. The
experience of this hotel spoilt our holiday. We could of went to a 5* resort for the money we spent on this holiday. Would not reccomend this hotel to anyone.

“Best holiday ever”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Don't be put off when you arrive, it looks like a dump, but walked into the holiday village and was surprised how clean and big it was.
Rooms were very basic but clean, beds were hard, but like a firm mattress, so i was happy.
Food was ok, it was alway tepid but they did have a microwave.
If your a light sleeper don't sleep at the far end, we had a confused cock screaming from about 2am, that started the nutter dog off and the crickets were very loud.
My holiday was made by the brill people i met, they were all different ages, but we all got on fantastic, it was our little holiday family.
The pool was very clean and big enough for the complex, Cant really complain about anything really.

Aunty Loops
I would recommend these apartments for a budget holday, but all in all met some fantastic people there, who hopefully will be friends for life.
