We had a fantastic stay here, the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming! Our room was huge and overlooked the pool and sea. We loved the simple design of the rooms, which were comfortable and cool due to good air con. Rooms were cleaned everyday. On our arrival we had a bottle of local wine and fruit in our room. The breakfasts were simple, fresh and very enjoyable. Greek yogurt, fruit and honey did just the job!
All round fantastic trip we loved every minute. Recommend Mistral Tavern one road back from the seafront. Family run and has outside seating amongst pistachio trees, definitely try the Fried Tomato Balls. Oia is also a must, try and find the cafe 39 steps, opposite a big church dome as you walk down towards the steps to Almoudi Bay. Once down at the bay, which is beautiful turn left and walk round the track/path to an area where you can swim and snorkle, it was a definite highlight for us. You can swim out to an island about 20metres away and climb up to a ledge and jump off if you are brave enough or just go and see the little church there. We got to Oia by local bus, they are great and very resonable. From Kamari you get the bus to Fira and from there you can pretty much go anyway on the island.
Another highligh was Pygros, go to the centre which is just a roundabout really and head up towards the church and castle. We went up there to catch the sunset and found a brilliant little cafe called 'Penelope's' . Very quite place and not very touristy, visited here when we hired a car for the day. On our last night we went to the Pantheon Restaurant which overlooks the caldera, which is truly stunning and had a fantastic meal. This was organised by Kamari Tours and was 30 euros per person including transfer to the venue. Atlantis local wine was lovely!!
All in all a wonderful holiday and one to remember for sure!!!
