My husband and I have just returned from Kamari, Santorini, and have found this hotel superb standard.
The accommodation is 3+ in brochure, we always try to go 4 star, but in the Greek Islands this is a high rating. The hotel was situated on a hill, nestling in the base of a mountain. Whilst lazing around the pool, you can idly watch people hiking up the mountain, which was amusing as we have been on many walking holidays to switzerland, but due to the heat declined any such activity. The accommodation was self catering, as we always find it handy to have a fridge, on arrival we found that every room has a sea view, we had a lovely little patio and the front is done traditionally deep blue ie shutters, doors etc against white walls and inside it was a spacious room with kitchen, huge corner sofa, dining table and bathroom, all done to high standard. Just be a little wary of the bathroom as can get very slippery, nearly came a cropper a couple of times. The pool area has a bar which do really nice lunch, could do with more sunbeds, but people came and went so wasn't real problem. There was limited room for sunbeds so not hotels fault. Just a short 5 min walk to bars and restaurants down the hill, to find in our opinion the best restaurant in Kamari called Petrino, average meal
for 2, with couple of drinks each 30-40 euro, but standard is exceptionally high. Check out my review on this restaurant, cannot praise it enough. Just love dining out, but can't match this one back home. Take no notice of restaurant called no-name, couldn't walk past without constant pestering every night, felt like I was on a mission to get to Petrino which didn't even have to try to get people in.
Room Tip: all rooms have sea view and appear to all be good.
