“Excellent Holiday”

My husband and I stayed at the Levante Hotel in September for a week and had a great time. Yes the rooms are basic but we always found them to be clean and we did not spend alot of time in the room anyway. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly even though they seem to work very long hours. Although the pool area was clean and pleasant we were rarely able to get soun loungers however with the beach as close it did not matter. The bar is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by with occasional entertainment and the food is good, although only ate there once as there dozens of restaurants nearby. The breakfast terrace has amazing views and is a lovely place to sit and breakfast served is basic however you can pay extra for an English breakfast. Overall I felt the hotel was excellent value for money and I would definitley stay there again. Kamari itself is a lovel place with loads of bars and restaurants but it is worth hiring a car (25 - 35 euros) and seeing the rest of the island as it is beautiful with some amazing views.

“enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Just returned from a two week stay at the Levante Beach and have to say we enjoyed every minute, we had requested a sea view room but were glad that there was not one available as the room we were allocated had a very private balcony overlooking a small farm and the mountains. We found the hotel welcoming and the staff extremely friendly and efficient with nothing too much trouble. The room was cleaned everyday to an extremely high standard and bed linen and towels changed every couple of days. Breakfast area was great with lovely views of the beach, the greek breakfast consisted of white bread, brown bread, butter, cheese, ham, cereals, fruit, biscuits, cake, jam, filter or instant coffees and a selection of teas. Cooked items were available but didn't try these but the prices looked reasonable. I agree with the previous review that you probably could get 6 eggs for 86 pence here, but I doubt if that would be cooked and served.
The bar area was well presented serving drinks at about the average price for Kamari - large beer 3.80 Euros, cocktails from 4.50 (special offers) to 6.50 Euros. (You can get cheaper cocktails, spirit based drinks cheaper elsewhere but we found that the alcohol levels varied enormously with the Levante's being very generous). We found the snacks that we had in the bar to be well prepared, tasty and quite reasonable in price.
We didn't need aircon as there was a nice breeze in the evenings and we could leave the doors open as we we didn't seem to be bothered by mozzies. There were a couple of nights when we were disturbed by dogs barking but this was from properties not associated with the hotel so can't really blame them for that. There is a quite busy car park next door but we found even though our room was right by the entrance that we were not disturbed that much as traffic was very light between midnight and 8 a.m.
Kamari is a lovely town and we will return again and will consider the Levante if we do.
Note. I agree with an earlier review that a mop for the bathroom floor and a hook for the shower would be welcome additions. All in all this Hotel compared very favourably with the numerous other accommodations we have stayed in in Greece.

“Noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

On arrival we were shown to the back end of the hotel (after a 20 min wait at reception )overlooking the car park.Said this was unacceptable as a sea view(glad we did not have one as they are all upstairs) had been requested. We were then given room 112 overlooking reception and the back end of the shops next door which looked like a junk yard!!All night for 5 nights we were kept awake by 3 dogs next door barking all night!!We went for a 3 night trip to another island and upon our return our rep had got us a move to room 262 upstairs,my wife is registered disabled!!There are no grab rails or aids at all in this hotel for didabled peolple EVEN ON STAIRS GOING UPSTAIRS TO ROOMS.This overloks 4 other balconies and rooms and has 3 more underneath all visible,no privacy.A view of a big pine tree hiding the car park but the noise from the car park is awfull as is the dust..Again no relaxation in room.We had to pay 1 Euro per day for the safe,5 Euro's per day for air con and there was no hair dryer.
The breakfast terrace was lovely. For extras at breakfast 1 Euro(86p) for a fried /boiled egg.Reasonable price? Can get 6 here for that.Everything appeared designed for maximum profit.
The maids came in every day but failed to clean under the bed or the bathroom mirror.
We stayed last year at a 2 star hotel in Kamari(The Castro) and had free safe, air con and a hair dryer.Levante Beach 3 star mmmmmmm.
The only good thing we found apart from breakfast terrace was Anna on reception she was great.
We will return to Kamari again but alas not here.Probably the "Castro".

Room Tip: Get a room over back arch that overlook fields.

“Amazing hotel, perfect location, great staff and clean”

Dont believe everything you read thats all i can say. Myself and my partner have just returned from Levante hotel and i thought it was fantastic, the breakfast was continental ham, cheese, cereal, fruit juice, tea, coffee, chocolate cake , it was always fresh and topped up, for a small charge you could order cooked. It was served looking over the sea, perfect. Our room was basic but very clean, maid service seemed like it was daily as the room was always spot on. The bar area was clean fresh and airy with occasional entertainment and the pool was always kept clean and tidy. The location was ideal, 1 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. It was next door but 1 to the best bar ever The love boat, Fannos and his wife really do look after you but watch for them shots lol. If i went back here i would choose this hotel without a doubt.

Room Tip: There are limited sea view and pool view rooms but this really didn't matter to us, cleanliness...

“Good Basic Clean Friendly Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

Stayed as a couple for a week in August 2011. Late arrival was not a problem with friendly reception staff. Shown to our room, found it to be comfortable and very clean. Purchased, and had no problems with the air conditioning. Breaktfast was light but sufficient. Lovely views from upper deck where it was served. Spent most days poolside, only one occaision when sunbeds were not available, not a great problem though, as just stepped outside front of hotel onto the beach and sunbeds there. As with most greek bathrooms, shower is handheld with no curtain but wet floor drains away. A hook for the shower and maybe a squeezy on a broom would help. At periods of high demand shower reduced to a trickle, but wait and the pressure improves. Wide choice of restaurants and bars along pedestranised promanade directly outside hotel. Reasonable pricing at restaurants. Public bus stop is nearby and allows transport around island. Overall we really enjoyed the holiday and would return to Kamari and/or the hotel again
