me my partner and my 4yr old daughter stayed here for a week all inclusive last week ,it was a late booking and couldnt find anything but came across this hotel ,looked at the reviews and there wasen't many so we took a gamble, the hotel is lovely big pool little kids pool and a jacuzzi room was lovely aswell with free air conditioning ,free safe, free wifi and free tv and fridge in our room ,our rooms where cleaned every day while we was there and staff very helpful ,the breakfast was basic continental toast ham cheese cucumber ect, lunch and tea had its good days and bad days but more good , but nothing for children to really eat we only got chips twice while we was there so my daughter lived of fruit and bread and butter rice and pasta for a week ,the all inclusive is abit basic aswell the bar is opens at 10am the snacks is only cheese and ham toasties and ice cream 3pm till 6pm , but did not really bother us ,there where good choice of hot and cold drinks but no spirits or cocktails you have to pay for them , the staff in the dining room and behind the bar was great with our daughter and worked very hard to make sure that we had a good time , downside to the hotel is there is no entertainment what so ever and its 500yards to far away from main strip with no street lighting on roads when walking to and from hotel also they dont cater for any english its italians and germans mostley staying there but that never bothered us , all in all we had a great relaxing break , but would not go back to the hotel or resort its not a place for children.

Hotel Makarios is a small oasis with palm trees, lovely blue pool, nice little poolbar, Tennis court, restaurant and the some of the most friendly people you will find in greece. Always smiling, geniuenly happy people.

The rooms are all standard, but comes with everything you world want. Aircondition, Tv, music system, fridge, comfy beds, cabinets to store your clothes and a nice bathroom with a
shower and a nice clean toilet. And on top of that you get a balkony with a good view and a couple of chairs.

The food is alright, not as exclusive as the local resturants but high standard for a small hotel.

The bar serves all kinds of drinks, we ordered all inclusive and especially enjoyed the cold white wine while sitting at the pool.

The only negative thing i can really say about the hotel is the location next to the airport, at times the planer can be noisy but the come overhead maby once an hour and not all times of the day. Although i like planes myself it fun to be able to see them up close when they pass by once in a while.

Id like to state that after reading some of the negative reviews here i found it important to write my own when we came back. Because after my stay here at the hotel i can say they are misleading and may cause unnessary consern.

Hotel Makarios is a lovely hotel.

We enjoyed our vaccation here last year in August, me and my family we felt grate here!! The staff was very nice and the food was grate. The island Santorini is the perfect destination for spending a grate vaccation. Thank you!

This hotel is very good, you pay for it ... it's not cheap, but you have a lot of services ... good swimming-pool, tennis, ping-pong, free internet-access, very good breakfast, nice rooms. All was fine, but you pay almost 70 euros per night for a double room ...
If you think the price is fine, you will like for sure this hotel !
