“A little gem !!”

This was our 40th trip to the Greek Islands and this must be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in for what we paid for it. The rooms we exceptionally clean and well maintained with little luxuries that one does not always find in Greece. Air conditioning, shower with a curtain, fridge, hairdryer all included in the price. The breakfast was more than adequate and there was no objections to taking your own food into the dining room but there was a good selection of items and as much as you wanted to eat..and real Lurpak butter !!! The pool area was more than adequate and the 50 metres to the sea was about right. Plenty of tavernas in the vicinity and one of the best was the Sea View which was just around the corner. The sunbeds on the beach were very reasonable but you do need some beach shoes to go into the sea as is very hard on the feet and not really a place for small children as the beach slopes sharply and you are up to your neck before you realise it. We had 3 wonderful weeks and will return next year where the family are most welcoming without being intrusive. Some of the negative reviews do not appear to have been in the same place or they expected caviar for fish and ship prices.

“Very disappointing....”

Having been slightly misled by some previous reviews we decided to book our stay at Armonia. When we arrived we were greeted by a rather nonchalant member of staff and discovered that we had been allocated a twin rather than a double room. When we tried to change we were given the impression that it was our fault, even though we had the booking details with us that clearly stated we booked a double. This was eventually rectified a few hours later.
The rooms are pretty basic, the only luxuries being a small fridge and air conditioning, it is set to switch of as soon as you leave the room so it cannot be kept cool. There was a smell of drains every time we returned to the room. The television had volume limitation so it was hardly audible and the only 'watchable' channel was CNN. I had to ask for the sheets to be changed after noticing that they had not been for two days, also leave the towels on the floor otherwise they will not be changed either. Breakfast is BASIC. You are provided with some bread, luncheon meat and processed cheese from a plastic container. No fresh juice, just some really horrible squash, hard boiled eggs and tiny croissants that were mostly cold. The best bit was the yoghurt and coffee.
Santorini is a beautiful island, we were very glad that we hired a car so that we could explore at our leisure. Kamari is a perfect mix of beach, bars and restaurants, shame about the restaurant staff constantly trying to get you in, sometimes a bit pushy. Classico Cafe is definitely the best restaurant, wonderful, helpful, friendly staff unlike the hotel.

“Great family run hotel”

Stayed at Armonia Hotel for our sons wedding. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice pool, decent breakfast and the room was clean with fresh towels each day. The shower was OK, but it would have been nice if I had not required to hold it in one hand, as it did not fit the bracket. Close to the beach without being too close. Plenty of really good affordable restaurants nearby.

“Fantastic Charming Hotel - amazing value”

Just returned from a fantastic stay at the charming Armonia Hotel and have to say that the hotel was one of the highlights of the whole experience. The Armonia Hotel is a simple hotel which offers excellent value for money. We stayed with 3 children and we all enjoyed the friendly relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are simple but contain everything one needs including effective air conditioning, mini fridge and small but functional shower rooms. The entire hotel is very clean and fresh towels and sheets are provided most days and changed daily if required. The breakfast was ideal, there is a small choice of continental/greek food and I I enjoyed my breakfast every day . We sat on the veranda in peace and quiet and planned our day. The pool is average sized and sunbeds are easy to find, the pool bar didn't open, however the hotel is 2 minutes from loads of shops, so drinks and ice creams are near to hand. The owners were lovely and the four daughters will help deal with requests. Margaret has fluent English. We enjoyed our trip and found the tavernas were quite expensive however the Armonia is amazing value and well worth every penny. Fira the capital is cosmopolitan but busy and expensive, Oia is stunning, much quieter and full of amazing shops selling local artworks.

“Clean and basic hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

We booked this hotel at a last minute price with Sunjets. The hotel was ok for the price we paid for it, but I would not pay the full price for it.
It's a nice little hotel (only 30 rooms), very quiet located. It was very clean, as is everything in Greece I guess. The room was of good size, very basic decorated. The bathroom was rather small and the shower had a curtain which was not so convenient. We had no bugs or any other insects in our room, altough we heard from other guests that they had cockroaches in their room. We had a very nice and large terrace with view on the interland and nice church. The room had airco, which we needed as it was very hot in the room. The beds and pillows were very hard, but not really bad.
The breakfast was very basic and every day the same. The "orange juice" was rubbish. But the bread was very nice.
The pool was nice with sufficient sunbeds and chairs. I only wonder weather the pool was regulary cleaned.
kamari was ok, although I did not like all the "proppers" at the restaurants. You could not easily walk on the seapromenade at night because at EACH restaurant people tried to get you in .
Santorini itself was magnificent ! You really need to hire a scooter, it only costs about 15-20 € per day !
