My husband and I stayed here twice during September on our 'Taste of the Greek Islands' group holiday, (3 nights at the beginning, and 4 nights at the end). The hotel was lovely, the quiet end of Kamari, about 100 yards from the black sand and pebble extensive beach. The hotel had such a relaxed atmosphere, the soft music playing made us feel chilled out the moment we arrived. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful, speaking good English, with a good sense of humour. Our room was reasonably spacious, with our first floor balcony overlooking the pool, which was a good size, excellent if you are a 'swimmer'. Pool was roped off after dark, and the lighting around the pool and surrounding area looked lovely. Our balcony was sunny and we could watch a beautiful sunset from it. Nice comfortable sunbeds with large umbrellas, and sun chairs that looked awkward, but in fact very easy to get in and out of. Nice to see the beds and pool area cleaned thoroughly each morning. Buffet breakfast, which we ate outside overlooking the pool, was surprisingly good, with plenty of choice (including bacon and egg). The pancakes with honey and yoghurt were delicious. The hotel is quite close to the airport so planes do fly in over the beach and hotel, but were not a problem, and in fact quite fascinating to watch, but they do not fly over during the night. There was a well stocked mini-market next door selling everything including newpapers. When we returned to this hotel at the end of our holiday for 4 more nights, it felt like we were coming home, we were welcomed like old friends. There are excellent restaurants, bars and shops along the mile long pedestrianised waterfront, a lovely place to stroll along, or just sit and watch the people go by. Can't wait to go back to Rose Bay Hotel, and Kamari in beautiful Santorini.
