We reserved for 4 nights in August. We tried get in contact with the owner of the hotel (Leonidas), in order to give us some directions to the hotel, but it was impossible, he didn't reply to our email. On our own, we eventually managed to arrive at the hotel.
When we arrived, Leonidas told us we had to stay in other hotel because of “overbooking”. We asked him if that hotel was near a beach? He said to us “yes, of course”.
We arrived at our new hotel and there was nothing around it. The beach was 20 minutes by bus, he had lied to us!
After complaining, they gave us the option to come back to the first hotel. I wonder to myself: whats happened to the “overbooking”?
The policy or scam of this business is this; they allow you to reserve, when you arrive there, they take you to another hotel of the same chain of hotels. And only if you complain, you get what yo had booked for.
So, if you are going to reserve, think about it, because maybe you will have to stay in another hotel that you didn't choose.

Reservamos 4 noches para agosto. Intentamos contactar con el dueño del hotel (Leonidas) para que nos indicara como llegar hasta allí, pero fue imposible, no nos respondió al mail y después de buscarnos la vida, conseguimos llegar.
Una vez allí, Leonidas nos comentó que nos tendrían que alojar en otro hotel, porque había "overbooking". Le preguntamos si ese hotel tenia también playa cerca, y nos dijo que sí.
Nuestra sorpresa al llegar al nuevo destino fue mayúscula. ¡No había nada alrededor mas que el hotel! y la playa estaba a 20 minutos en autobús, nos había mentido.
Después de quejarnos, conseguimos que nos dieran la habitación que habíamos reservado en el primer hotel, ¿curioso overbooking, verdad?.
Su negocio es muy simple, reservan a todo el mundo que lo solicite aunque el hotel este lleno, y una vez allí, los derivan a otro hotel de la misma cadena, así que si van a reservar, por favor, píensenlo dos veces, porque quizás una vez allí, les trasladen a otro hotel que no quieran.

We’ve stayed in Astro 10 days. It is 3* hotel with nice clean rooms equipped with TV, hairdryer, fridge, air conditioner (free) and safe (1EUR per day). The room was very specious with nice balcony. They have one of the most beautiful gardens with a bar and small bar pool. There is also nice swimming pool with umbrellas and sun beds (free). The hotel is nicely situated only 200m from the beach and the main street. You also have great super market 2 min. away from the hotel and in the same street there are bakery and a lot of restaurant. The owner, who also works at the reception, wasn’t the friendliest person. He seemed confused and spoke broken English. So, don’t expect any info or help from him. He wasn’t even interested in saying “hello” to us. Not a nice picture, but you can ignore him and enjoy the beautiful Kamari. His daughter was more friendly and the young Greek working at the reception and bar in the afternoon and evening. Not too friendly Rumanian guy is also working there. Overall not too helpful staff. The breakfast was one of the worst breakfasts I’ve ever had. The selection of food is very poor and it is the same every day. However, for the good price we’ve got, it was OK. And after all, you’re there to enjoy the sea, beach and sun, and you have all that in Kamari.

Astro hotel is exceptionally clean with really attentative staff. As soon as we arrived the staff could not do enough for us to ensure my toddler was comfortable. The rooms were of a good size with all the necessary equipement i.e. safe, fridge, air conditioning, hair dryer, radio, clean towels etc.

The hotel is small and friendly (the maid greated us by first names everyday) and very quiet at night. The pool is of perfect size with adequate amounts of sunbeds (free) surrounding the pool. It also houses a jacuzzi pool next to the hotel bar.

It is a very small walk to the beach, bus stop and main street. It is also very close to some of the best resturants in Kamari and a brilliant bakery.

The breakfast is of an average standard but provides cererals, boiled eggs, bread, cheese, ham, fruit, hot drinks and fruit juices.

I would definately go back again.

The Astro hotel is spotlessley clean,well run and centrally located.
The breakfasts are continental but the quality and choice is all there.

The gardens are a beautiful oasis in a busy area of Kamari.Several restaurants are very close by ,we found the best was the one adjoined to the hotel "Sellada Taverna" family run.
We had room 6 at the front of the hotel lookng over the pool area.The room was large enough,very clean had hot water at all times of day which in Greece is not always available ,and it had everything you could need including a radio,hairdryer ,air con ,and a small fridge to keep your drinks cold.The room safe costs 1 Euro per night ,good value.Dont miss Santos winery with views of the caldera and a Thira sunset simply stunning.

The cleaning ladies and reception staff are also wonderful attentive people that go that extra mile to help guests

Anyone thinking of staying here and has already read any negative reports please ignore them the hotel is wonderful ,We have nothing neagtive to say about it.
