“Nice & elegant hotel but beware of airport proximity in the high season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

This is a good hotel, quite elegant and relaxing. I'll summarize the pro's & con's

Pro's:
- Elegant & romantic hotel
- Nice & big swimming pool for Santorini
- Friendly staff
- Has a beach (not that common in Santorini!)
- Not many kids running around
- Recommended for couples

Con's:
- Too close to the airport (for the take-off noise mainly), however, in the low season, there are not that many planes. We went end of September and it was not a problem after all.
- Bathroom seems a bit outdated, it was functional but appeared a bit old (so did the airconditioning system).
- The "free" fruit juice with the breakfast buffet was awful (powder + water type)

In conclusion, a calm and romantic hotel in a superb Santorini island but I would avoid the high season because of airplanes taking off nearby.

“Recently stayed at this hotel in Greece...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2010

Recently stayed at this hotel in Greece. If you love planes and like being close to an airport you will be happy.

We stayed a boutique hotel in Imerovigli which was lovely, but broke up the stay in Santorini and moved to this hotel. A mistake on our part.

If you do not mind planes being close and visible then you will be fine. It is hard to relax with the constant airport noises.

We cut short our stay and moved back to Imerovigli. Sorry, but one of the worst experiences I have had considering how lovely parts of Santorini are.

The proximity of the airport is a drawback to staying in Kamari on the whole.

“Perfect Place for a Honeymoon and lazy days...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

As we had not pre-ordered a Honeymoon, we ended on trying Santorini again, as it was the place we got engaged 2 years ago, and as I am an experienced traveller, it became my duty to find the ideal hotel/resort!

When I saw the presentation of Imperial Med in the agencys presentation, there was really no doubt, being aware of that these presentations might differ from reality, but never has my doubts been more mistaken.

I contacted the hotel ahead of our arrival, explained them that we were on a Honeymoon and asked if they could assist me in arranging champagne, flowers and fruits upon our arrival, and less than 2 hours later, the Manager personally contacted me and told I could consider this taken care of as a present from the Hotel... What a start, and we hadnt even arrived yet!

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and a Gentleman arranged our luggage to the room, where the cooler with champagne, fruits and wonderful flowers were delivered just minutes after we entered, and these first very good impressions became the essence of the entire stay!

The entire hotel area, with it's small bungalows surrounded by palms and wonderful flowers, were so clean and tidy at all times. The delicious pool area with the pool bar, a'la carte restaurant, buffet restaurant and nearby private beach, actually made my "spa-loving" wife forget that there was a spa at the hotel, that tells a lot!
Just "dozing off" around the pool and pool bar, with some of the most friendly staff I've ever met, were recreation itself!

The only thing missing were a small folder in the room of available services at the hotel and a mini-bar, but what I later understood was that they were available for you with any services of drinks, snacks and food more or less at all times, delivered to your room if wanted, and who needs a mini-bar then? :)
The airport are also nearby the hotel, which can be seen as disturbing to some, but after a day or so, we didnt even pay attention to this! The positive with the airport though, is that you dont have to sit around in a bus with no AC for hours, actually there are no need for this at all, as letting the hotel know your arrival and departure, they will pick you up themselves!

All in all, my wife and I were looking at Maldives, Mauritius & Zanzibar, but we are very happy that we chose Imperial Med and Santorini. Location from Fira, Kamari & Perissa is just ideal as well, that said, we only left the hotel area 2 times in a week, as we had all we needed right there, brought to us by a very professional Manager and her wonderful staff :)

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

We had a great stay in this hotel.

My girlfiend informed me advance that the hotel was located near the airport. But, it was no problem at all, btw, the airport has to be somewhere on such a small island.

- The staff of the restaurant & bar was very friendly, in special Mr Michalis! He knows what hospitality means!
- The food was very good (every day another buffet, not like in some other hotels)
- The pictures on the website are like in reality (romantic & relaxing
- Location of the hotel is perfect: we rented a quad and visited first the North & afterwards the South part of the Island. Kamari is just 2 km located from the hotel.
- Wireless was free (was some issue with the connection, so they charged nothing

Advice: Hire a quad to visit the island yourself (go to Oia, Fira, Kamari, Perissa)! Excursions are not recommended!!!

I would like to thank Mrs Sahin (Hotel Director) & Mr Michalis (Barman/Restaurant)!!!
