“A perfect holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Okay, so I read some reviews prior to going about the airport being too close and that photo of the deck chair in the shrubbery haha...but really the place is just wonderful. Yes the airport is within eye shot, and you can hear from 1-5 planes land and take off each day. If you're precious then this could be an issue, but it lasts for about 2 seconds, and what might sound like a pain, is in fact quite quirky. It did not bother me one bit and they weren't any planes at unsociable hours. The hotel was SPOTLESS. The cleaners were fantastic leaving our room immaculate each day. The pool is so clean you can drink it (I only know this due to my boyfriend dunking me under water). The staff are wonderful and accomodating. The only downfall is perhaps the lack of life around the hotel. There is a shop about a mile away and I enjoyed the walk, but it would have been nice to have it a bit closer. You do have to get cabs everywhere ranging from 5-10 Euro to Kamari and 12-15 to Fira (depends how they feel). However, the hotel lay on a cheaper minibus service 5 times a day which is a great help. In fairness I love a good moan, but I really have nothing negative to say about the hotel. The receptionists were fantastic, especially Andreas and the waiters are exceptional. It was predominantly couples over 35 there, which was perfect for me at 28 because I did not want a rowdy hotel. Lovely guests and a beautiful island. We were upgraded to a suit which was beautiful with a sea view. The pool at night is surrounded with candles and atmospheric music...if you're a couple seeking the ultimate romantic relaxation holiday...go here!!! Love love LOVE it and will definitely be going back.

Room Tip: I had suite 703 with a terrace, sea view and it was awesome!

We were on the island for our daughters wedding, what a fantastic hotel, loved the pool the bar staff were fabulous especially Vassey and Daniel, David Clarke and his staff in the restaurant were excellent really helpful and courteous,The staff in the reception area were very welcoming and were exceptionally helpful especially when our daughter and son-in-law returned from their wedding reception they had arranged candles rose petals and wine in their room.I would like to thank all the staff at the Imperial Med for making our stay an unforgettable experience that we wont forget and some day my husband and I hope to return to the beautiful island of Santorini.

Room Tip: We had chosen a junior suite it was excellent the bed was very comfortable the bathroom was with bat...

“Lovely Hotel”

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Imperial Med. The hotel is very attractive and the staff attentive. I wouldn't say that the rooms were of a 5 star boutique standard, but compared to what is generally on offer in Greece they were excellent: clean, spacious, attractive, an incredibly comfortabe bed and fantastic terrace. The private beach was wonderful and peaceful, and the pool very generous.

As several other visitors have already mentioned, the hotel is literally across the road from the airport runway, but I have to say that I was surprised at how little noise there was.

The hotel is quite isolated - the ony local facilities is an excellent taverna, Galinis, about 200m along the beach. Kamari is about a 1.5km walk away from the hotel which is an entirely managable stroll through the day but not recommended at night. A taxi back to the hotel only costs 10Euros though. The local bus service (which will take you to Thira or Karami for 1.60Euros compared to 10Euros for the hotel shuttle) runs throughout the day and is easy to use, but the last bus back is at 8pm unless you get the later buses to Kamari and then a taxi. The isolation of the hotel means that there's not a great deal to do in the evenings unless you have a car, but in all honesty my husband and I quite liked this about the hotel as we were able to relax and have peaceful evenings.

The only thing that we didn't like about the hotel, and this really upset me, was that the owner of the hotel keeps his rotweiller chained up in a corner of the carpark all day and night unless one of the staff take pity on him and takes him for a short walk. The poor dog is really neglected, spends his day looking for a shady area to sleep, and is really deprived of the basic affection and attention that dogs need. If you are confident with large dogs, say hi to him (his name is Noi-e) he's a big friendly boy who just desperately wants a bit of attention and a scratch.

Other than the situation with the dog, I found this hotel to be excellent and would certainly stay there again.

“Pristine boutique hotel”

Our first time in this beautiful country consisting of pristine greek islands, it was the ideal destination for our honeymoon. An ideal boutique hotel with close proximity to the airport in Santorini, I absolutely fell in love with the place. The staff was very helpful and we were upgraded to a suite room with a fantastic view. Beautiful white and blue combination of the interior and exterior of the hotel to compliment the crystal clear blue waters was the perfect setup. The private beachside added to the beauty. Evenings were brialliantly lit up alongside the pool to set up the mood with a live performance. Hotel was a short distance from town and one can hire a vehicle very conviniently to go around. It was a brilliant experience and if given a chance I would love to visit the place again.

An absolute almost ideal combination of location, exterior and interior design of the hotel, excellent staff and service, restaurant with plenty of delicious food and hearty environment..A bit disturbing close proximity to the airport.Fascinating garden, pool, beech and all the comfort you can dream off compensates that slight discomfort.
My special thanks to Eva,Marina at front desk,Annetta,John and Apostalis at the restaurant!
If I ever have a chance to visit Santorini I wish to stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Standard room in Imp Med.
