I came across this hotel by sheer chance. I had come back from Ios by ferry and was at the port in Santorini wanting a lift to Kamari when I spotted a lovely lady with a sign 'Sweet Heart Studios Kamari Beach'. I asked her politely if I could get a lift as most people won't transfer unless you are staying at their hotel. She said she would be more than happy to give me a lift and she asked where I was staying. I told her I was staying at my cousin's place but wouldn't mind looking for somewhere to stay as I work in tourism and wanted my own space after being spoilt at Homer's Inn on Ios but an affordable rate. She gave me a terrific price on the spot and offered to show the apartment to me.

I loved it the minute I saw it. Now these aren't studios they are studio apartments with full cooking amenities. The room is very big, nicely decorated, clean shower, air conditioning, an awesome TV and also tea and coffee facilities which is very rare in Greece. The lovely lady's name is Nicoletta and she runs it with her family. She checked me in and she made me a frape a cold Greek coffee as I settled into the room. What I loved about this place is they also have a gorgeous pool area with sofas and it is so quiet.

I had a quad bike so it wasn't far for me to get to Kamari Beach you can walk, but it's quicker to get around if you have a car or quad bike as you can also go and buy food from the supermarket and keep it in the fridge and even cook. They don't offer breakfast but Nicoletta was quite happy to make me some if I told her what I wanted,, now that's what I call service! They also have wifi which is a bonus. Nothing was a problem for her, I had a headache (after a hard night)!! she gave me tablets, I wanted milk for my coffee she gave me a full carton, I asked for water she told me I could get some from the bar fridge at no cost, I asked for an iron she told me she would iron whatever I wanted quickly for me.

I have never met such a warm host in all my travels where nothing is a problem, which is why I decided to stay for the rest of the week at the studios instead of staying with relatives. There are 13 apartments in the complex and two areas you can sit and relax at, in the pool area or the entrance, with comfy chairs and shade as well as outside your room there's a table and chairs there as well.

I had some friends from Australia that had to check out of their room in Fira and couldn't leave their luggage there. Nicoletta was happy for them to come to the hotel and leave their luggage, have a swim in the pool and also shower if they needed to in my room.

All I can say is that this is fantastic accommodation and hospitality for a budget price, for peak tourist season you're looking at top prices. Nothing is a problem for the family, her husband took me to my cousin's place to pick up my luggage to bring to the hotel, some Greeks tend to get a bit lazy during the peak season as it is very busy.

She makes the best frappe and I have had so many while staying here, as I am on my own it is lovely to talk to her family and get to know them, I feel totally safe at this hotel as it is small with not much traffic coming through.

I will definitely stay there again, I have met some lovely guests, mostly mature, and families who had nothing but positive things to say about the place.

I loved my stay at Sweetheart Studio Apartments, great value for money and will recommend it to lots of people and I will be back again.

Room Tip: Nicoletta makes the best frappe!
