“Clean, simple, good value accomodation”

We stayed at Kapelos Yannis apartments for one week. We were dropped off by our coach transfer driver (A2B transfers) at the wrong apartments and had to use a map and asking around to work out where we were staying!

We were really pleased with the location of the apartment, we counted 70 steps from the beach! - you could hear the waves crashing onto the shore. It meant you could run 'home' to use the toilet from the beach : )

Impressed with very clean and lovely smelling sheets, the room was basic but had a fridge and hob if you wanted to do some basic meals - which we didn't!

Owners were friendly. The pool was drained during our stay - we think due to end of season but looked nice enough.

We liked Kamari with the good choice of restaurants along the sea front we found the food to be of a good standard. A few places closed for the winter during our stay - i wouldnt recommend this time of year if you are looking for a lively holiday, but i also cant imagine Kamari gets too lively in high season - it seems perfect for couples who want good food and a few drinks at night but no clubbing!

We took the local bus to Oia and found this was easy to do and worthwhile. We also visited ancient Thira - interesting if you like ancient ruins - dont expect Disney-like reconstructions ; )

The only slight negative i can think of is that the beach was quite littered, particuarly with cigarette ends however the sea was beautiful and really clear.

All in all, a great holiday!

Keep inn mind that this is a cheap option when it comes to housing!!
The location couldent be better. Right on the strand promenad, but sheltered from any noice. Distanse to the beach is actually less then the travel company said! Clean and nice enough, and it got cleaned every day of the week.

The biggest problem was the lack of english knowledge.... And on the first morning the owner barged inn to the room right after knocking. But, he gave us water mellon every time we saw him after that=P hehe, guess it was hes way of saying sorry. The cleaning was realy nive to be apartments like this! The only drawback was that the toiletbrushes was discusting....

But hey, for what your paying you get realy good value.

“decent rooms for a fair price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2010

excellent location in the resort,.cleaned every day. owner doesnt speak much english but we got by with hands signals.small pool area very convenient for apartments as the beach gets VERY HOT UNDERFOOT. restaurants are all very similar except the 'no name'(set back from the main drag) which had the best food.1 big tip dont go when there is any major sports event on as EVERY bar has big screen coverage and nothing else unless u count the 2singers!! n dodgy organist. the see santorini in a day trip is good value but be aware u need to be able to climb lots of steps.....worth it tho....dont bother payin 4 a trip to sunset in oia...just take the local bus..recommend this island for romantic couples..not for party people

“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

Basic but very clean accomodation in an excellent location.

If I was to complain it would be about a couple of niggly things, but please don't let these points put you off, just something to be aware of...

Atlas Group is not recognised by the locals as a hotel, they may even think you want the Atalos Hotel. With know one to officially greet you when arriving it's difficult to know which of the three villas your rooms in, but once you get passed that we found our room to be basic, but adequate and very clean. Our rooms air con was broken and at 38 C it did get a bit uncomfortable, but the room had a private balcony so we took it over the others.

So all in all an awesome island to visit, and the accomodation was clean, but basic.
