The worst place I've ever stayed.
We arrived to find that the apartment (if that's what you can call it, more like a shed) was meant to be basic. But we didn't think it would be THAT basic. It was dark and dingy, and too small for 3 of us. By the 3rd/4th day we were starting to feel really fed up of the apartment, it made us feel really ill and grumpy. We spent most of the day round the lovely pool side (which was the only nice thing about the hotel). On the 3rd/4th day we came back to the apartment from the pool to get something, and came back to a horrible burning electricity smell. Obviously worried, we called out the handyman. We saw this man earlier fixing pool tiles. (by the way, the pool tiles kept cutting peoples feet) He checked it and then left. He couldn't speak english, but we found out that we couldn't use the shower all night. The next day the handyman came round with a huge cardboard box which contained a new boiler. We were in the middle of eating out lunch, and he started draining the old boiler. The boiler started flooding the kitchen, and we moved the suitcase away just in time otherwise it would have got soaked. We left for a while because I started to get very stressed, and when we came back, the sockets were off the walls with wires sticking out, the smell was back and then there was another man working there as well. We had had enough, as we didn't want to risk staying there. We talked to the Thomas Cook rep, who was extremely unhelpful and quite rude to be honest. In the end she came back to us and said that there was an apartment in another hotel in another RESORT that was available. Obviously we were happy to go but not happy about leaving cala n bosch. We went to show her how bad the apartment was, then we got out of the place. The really bad thing was that we had to pay for the taxi there! We then got to Roc Oasis Park in Cala N Forcat, and although it wasn't where we wanted to be, it was extremely nicer than Roc Oasis Park.

It's disgusting, and completely unsafe.

Oh and I nearly forgot, a woman had ran out of her apartment in the middle of the night (at menorca mar) to the reception to say that the boiler in her apartment was making banging noises and shooting out hot water from the toilet. This Place is unsafe, don't stay here because it will put your health at risk.

DON'T STAY HERE!

On arrival we were given a room that resembled something out of Beirut. On informing the receptionist we wouldn't be staying there we were given a reasonable room, apart from the Kitchen cooking rings which were covered in rust!!!!! After three days of no maid service whatsoever we approached the receptionist, only to be handed a change of towels and bed linen, enough said!!!!! On complaining to the manager, who we found eventually we were offered a change of room to another apartment closer to the port, on a half board basis. As we were happy enough with the pool area and the quietness of the whole area we decided to stay put. Had we been offered this move on the first day of our holiday we would definitely have moved!!!!! It appeared that all poolside rooms were let to Spanish hjoliday makers who had room & maid service daily, i.e. change of towels and linen plus sweeping and mopping. If you like tanquilitiy and basic accomodation then go ahead but if not steer clear.

Basic is not the word. Do not stay here if you require a decent standard of accomodation to enjoy your holiday in. I dont understand how anyone could possibly have enjoyed a stay here and almost every person we talked to had more than one issue with thier apartment. We felt so cheated that we felt it necessary to file an official complaint with Thomas Cook. Please close this place down. Calan bosch is nice and the menorcan people lovely but this does not represent them fairly and Thomas Cook have let them down. How can you self cater without adequate cooking facilities? The hob was broken and took 3 days to fix. One of the kids had to sleep basically on a mattress on the floor. We had to sleep in 2 single beds. The power and water was on and off sporadically. Socket outlets were hanging off with access to live parts. Decor was shabby and outdated. The rooms were barely large enough for a family of 4. There was no laundry facility as advertised. The pool required maintenance as the kids cut thier feet on loose tiles and you had to dodge dead insects in the pool. The toilet waste overflowed up through blocked drains and spilled onto the footpaths. Other guests complained of ants in the wardrobe and mice droppings in the apartment. the maids never cleaned the apartment until you were leaving but did empty the bin every 3 days. The bedsheets got changed once in 2 weeks until we had to ask for them to be done again. Safety deposit boxes cost 80 euros a week and there is no air conditioning available. An oscillating fan is provided to blow the hot air around. The general opinion was well were here so we will have to get on with. Not what you want from a planned relaxed holiday. To top it off the England defence league turned up to accomodation advertised for couples and families. This is our honest review and hope it helps with your selection. Have a nice holiday.

This hotel was only opened for 5-8 weeks last year and apparently this year will be the same. I think that we were the first people to stay in this particular apartment. as we had to cet the handyman to take the door of it's hinges and plane/paint the bathroom door before we could shut it. Then it was off to reception to get pillows, dishes and kives that were missing form our room. Later in the week the toilet flooded and we used our towels to stop the whole bathroom these were not replaced altough another couple had raw sewege coming up through a drain outside their apartment.
The pool area however was kept clean and tidy with ample sun beds.
We returned as we like the quiet location but this complex is showing signs of neglect.
