Just came back from Son Blanc on the 19th August, we had some reservations about the hotel before we arrived but that was due to airtours messing up our booking, but that is another story. Anyway, we could not of asked for a bigger room and a better view, our balcony over looked the med and the sun set at night was fantastic (room 90). The staff, Tina and co in reception were friendly and did their upmost to make our stay comfortable, we once told them that we had ants in the apartment, by the time I had walked back from the reception to the apartment it had been sorted.
The complex itself is very clean and the pool was fantastic. Before we arrived we had booked a hire car for two weeks expecting to explore the island, but we only used it four times as we had everything we needed on our doorstep, Cuitadella is amazing and only a 5 min bus ride or 25 min walk if you can stand the heat, Cala'n Bosch is 10min by bus the other direction and that has everything Cuitadella hasn't (best of both worlds). The little bay just down the steps of the hotel is gorgeous, great for snorkling and a little further on there is another bay, slightly bigger but very clean.
We found some wonderful resturants, the first one I must tell you about, but please do not tell everyone as I feel it's my little secret is a little place called Sa Quandra, it is next the the second bay I had mentioned before, it is in the rocks, it is the best Steak House in Menorca, I dare you to try (and please excuse my spelling of this) Chateau Brein, it is to die for, you will never eat steak again after this as you will never be able to find that taste again. FANTASTIC!
The second place to eat is the Ocean which is opposite the commercial centre the food is great and there is bouncy castles for the children also a swimming pool, but don't be misled by this it is no cafe it is more of a bistro and the service is A1. The Airtours guys may advise you to go to the commercial centre, don't bother the food is disappointing and full of grease.
The Airtours reps, well what can I say about these guys they are out of this world, our children (girls 14 & 7) were completely entertained, so much so my husband and I managed to lie on a sunbed for 6 hours one day and not be disturbed other than for food and drinks, and we have never managed that on any of our holidays. The water polo was great fun but a little rough for smaller children as the men become children themselves and will not let a child have the ball. But they do do a childrens water polo to if asked.
The best reps in the world are at this resort, Jordan is the back bone of the entertainment team, and literally never stops. We asked him one night when he had finished work at midnightish, "how come you keep smiling?" His reply was because I love my job, and I really believe he does.
My family and I love this hotel and will go back one day, but unfortunately Airtours are not running it in 2006 so the reps are going (Direct Holidays are apparently taking over), we normally go to Florida and I can honestly say this holiday was on a par with our Florida holidays, and cheaper. I hope you all leave there with a tear in your eye like we did as we were so sorry to be going home at the end of our two weeks. Thanks Jordan, Janine, Pearl, Kat, Andy, Kelly and the rest of the team for a fantastic holiday and also a special thank you to our new found friends Adam Karen Hannah and Lewis, heres a glass of sangria to our next adventure in Ibizia.
P.S. DO THE SCUBA DIVING WITH SIMON IT IS FANTASTIC.
