“Not all bad!”

The rep Daniel, was awesome,he was so friendly and lovely to talk to,he was always there and gave off a good impression. He was always happy and smiling, and had a very bubbly personality! He was around when he said he was there he was. He helped through any problems that needed sorted. Just a good rep!
The food was not to bad, but we were getting very sick of having chips everyday. I never really saw the entertainment but,l heard it was good for little children. The beds were very comfortable but i got sick of being woken up by the cleaner. They never knocked before they came in. The shower kept going cold. The pools were freezing! It was close to that tiny beach which was okay for a bit of time to relax but apart from that it was rubbish. I liked the majority of things at the hotel, and everyone who worked there always seemed to have a smile on their faces and they were so happy,i shall definitely be returning!

“POOR FOOD - POOR SERVICE”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Booked a last minute holiday, hoping to relax, and I managed that!!

BUT - Booked a DOUBLE room, as it was meant to be a romantic getaway - ended up with an uncomfortable TWIN room - we requested on the 1st night to change to a double, we were told to see the morning receptionist to be moved - which we did and were told that there was only 1 double room on the complex, which was being used - so we stayed in the twin, reluctantly! Throughout the week we knew of at least 2 people with the opposite problem, who had booked a twin and were given a double, and they were told that there were no twins available!!!

The pools were freezing, but there were plenty of sunbeds, though not alot of shade if required!

The apartments were clean and spacious - although the fridge sounded like it had a jet engine, meaning you had to have the tv on extra loud to be able to hear it, and made it impossible to sit and relax!! And was told that someone had used the hob in their kitchen, and it set fire to the draw located underneath it!!

The bathroom mirror was hanging off the wall, exposing wires which sparked when the light was put on and the bathroom door had a hole punched in it.

THE FOOD!!! |Well, to be fair, we found something edible each night, but the selection of well cooked, edible food was poor - and what we did find was COLD (there was a microwave located in the dining room for this reason!!!!) The only decent meal was the breakfast, which was delicious, although mostly luke warm - and my only complaint about the breakfast was that the toasting machine took about 15 minutes to brown the bread, putting it through about 5 times!!!

The entertainment was very poor!

The local area was basically SHUT!! OK, it was the last week of the season, but come on!! The pubs that were open were running out of food and drink by the day! Jimmy Hills was a great place to go! The supermarkets had half empty shelves, and were highly priced!!

The Thomas Cook rep was not seen all week, although it is advertised he should have been at his desk daily!! Then on the Thursday, there was a notice left on his desk, saying he would be back on Wednesday if anyone wanted to see him - yet the hotel was closing on the Saturday for the season!!

I would not return to this hotel and would not recommend it!!

“pleasantly surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

September 16th to 30th.

We were worried when we read the reviews on here and had very low expectations but when we arrived we were very surprised! An amazing holiday in a beautiful and very friendly place. There were 5 of us altogether, me, my partner, his dad and his wife and his 2 year old brother and there was something to do for all of us. The place was clean both outside and inside, the grass was regularly cut and there was never any rubbish lying around.

ROOMS

We separated ourself to two apartments, the receptionist was very kind to put us next door to each other which was very handy! The rooms were basic and in need of updating but they had everything you needed. The cleaners came round about 3, 4 times a week with fresh towels and clean bedding which was perfect. They also brought in my clothing from the balcony when it was windy which was very thoughtful. You also had the option to pay a little extra for them to clean your room every day.

RESTAURANT & BAR

We went all inclusive, but not all drinks or snacks were included. Only popular alcoholic drinks were available for free which was fine for us! Only downfall was that you had to pay for the cocktails apart from one and they were quite expensive. The restaurant food was nice, plenty of choice. We were never served the same food twice in one day and it was never cold. They always had fresh baguettes and lots of salad.

STAFF

They were all very friendly and there was someone always available if you needed help. If you made the effort to get to know them you would find out they are all lovely and fun people. We had the most nicest receptionist, vanessa, who always went out her way to give you everything you needed.

ENTERTAINMENT

They always had some sort of entertainment every night. Mini disco for the children was on at half 8, followed by a bit of bingo and then either a professional entertainer or group activities. Daniel and Marlen done a fantastic job considering there was only two of them. Marlen always took charge of the mini disco and dressed up in silly outfits doing the chu chua and the superman song and got the parents and teenagers to join in too! And even if it wasnt our cup of tea we could simply walk down to jimmyhills to see what they had to offer!

THE RESORT

The resort was excellent, there were plenty of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and supermarkets. The hotel was perfectly situated where everything was a short walking distance. We even had a small beach just minutes away. There were loads of activities to do for every age group and were very child friendly with bouncy castles, play areas and a swimming park. Jimmyhills was great at night, at half nine they would have a show such as tribute bands Fake That and Westlive, dancing groups and a Disney show. After the shows they occasionally done themed nights and always had great music which lasted to the very early hours. We would recommend hiring bikes and taking a bike ride to Ciutadella there are lovely scenic views.

Overall a fantastic holiday experience. I would say expect a 3* hotel, as that is what you get. If you want luxury rooms and michelin star food then this isn't for you. If you are easy going, happy and up for a bit of relaxation and fun then this is the holiday for you! DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THE BAD REVIEWS! We had a FANTASTIC time, we met so many lovely people there who would agree. We will be returning next year.

Room Tip: Our rooms were right by the reception so they were very quiet.

“Filthy rooms, awful food, worse entertainment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

I don't know where these other people who have left reviews stayed but it can't be the same hotel as we stayed in (Roc Oasis Park, Cala En Forcat). We were supposed to be staying in the Binimar but were told 2 days prior to flying we had to stay at the roc oasis because the Binimar was shutting down 1 month early. Our holiday was from sep 23rd to 7th oct 2011.

I have never in all my years of travelling come across such an awful hotel. Let me break things down a little:

Rooms: (See pictures)
Filthy, with broken furniture, broken light fixtures with live wires exposed. The bath was caked with grime which we could not shift even with detergent and cloth. Taps etc looked like they had never been cleaned since new. The inside of the microwave was the worst I have ever seen, caked in food debris and grime. The white paint inside had come off in various places leaving a thick layer of what looked like rust. I don't think it has ever been cleaned since new. The toilet/bathroom stunk of serwage, we had to keep the door closed and bathroom window slats open!

The fridge was also filthy especially around the door handle. (see picture)

Furniture was also filthy/stained and in some cases falling to pieces.(see pictures)

Floors, doors and window frames also filthy and badly maintained. (see pictures)

I was so appaled at the state of the room (number 126 above reception) that I complained and Daniel (the rep) bless him, did his best and got us another room (number 625). This room was a marginal improvement, but dirty all the same.

Food:
I don't know where to begin with the food, very often cold (they had a microwave you had to use to heat it up), dripping with grease/fat. Hardly any choice at all (unless you like cold chips with everything), extremely fatty and of poor quality. The plates for food were also grimey (run your fingers across one and feel the grime). Glasses provided for drinks were badly washed and full of stains. Some of the chairs in the dining room were broken and the seat cushions provided were dirty and stained. To top all of that off the whole dining area suffered badly from flies. You had to fight off at least a dozen flies whilst you ate and any vacant tables were crawling with them.

Entertainment:
Categorically the worst I have ever seen on a package holiday. Zero childrens entertainment in the day in the first week and only 30 mins or so at night. The childrens entertainment consisted of the DJ (Dan) playing a few songs whilst the girl (I forget her name) half-heartedly went through some moves the children had to copy and that was it. If i had children with me at this hotel I would have been epically disappointed.

Adult entertainment consisted of bingo and brain/music quiz and was the same every night. Only once in 2 weeks did I see an outside act come in to entertain. One night the parrot show was billed which we had seen previously at the Binimar two years ago but was mysteriously cancelled due to a 'van accident' They promised to reschedule the show for during the week... needless to say this never happened.

In summary I would recommend that anyone stays well away from this 'hotel' unless you enjoy living in filth and eating slop day in - day out. Don't take my word for it, see the pictures!

Terrible, terrible hotel. You have been warned!

Room Tip: Stay well away!

“School Friends Reunion Holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We were a group of 8 late 40 something (being polite here for the ladies) school pals reunion holiday. We were in blocks 2, 4 & 6. The reception area and staff were always clean, friendly and polite. The rooms were basic but when you pay for 3* you done expect to get 5*. the rooms were very clean and we had maid service 4 times in the week we were there which was the last week of the season. Didn't see much of the Rep and didn't think much of the entertainment so we went to Jimmy Hill's around the corner, (At JH, there are: three bars, you can get meals including sunday roast, sports are played all the time and there is a late disco!.) Pool area near block 2 where most of us stayed was swept every morning and we never saw any rubbish or smelt any sewage smells as a previous review said. The only real complaint we had about the holiday was the food. It was always cold and plates were always greasy.

Room Tip: Block 2, although near reception we never had any noise and no kids were near us. We had rooms 207...
