“Total refurbishment and cooking lessons needed”

On arrival very disappointed to be given keys to appartments below street level with a view of a wall outside the patio doors. Headed back to reception to be told that was what we booked and that was all we could get. We were with another couple who were offered the same type of view so we asked to change to a two room appartment on the second floor. We chose to share and we stayed in the larger of the two bedrooms. and had a full size wardrobe which contained the safe for both rooms. The smaller room had a much smaller wardrobe. Both rooms had twin beds and in our room one bed was ok but the other uncomfortable and noisey. In the sitting room the material on the couch and chair were ripped. We got no sun on our balcony due to its position. Lock on patio doors needed fixed, Our electric went off in the middle of one night with a bang. Kettle and toaster worked well. We did not try hob. If you have not seen an ancient tv which hardly works and no remote you will find one here! Bathroom was Ok though small we had nice hot shower and bath to soak in. On the plus side towels and bedding were changed every second day but did have pile of fluff under bed., Overall though place was clean. Entertainment poor. Food worse we have had anywhere and we have about three holidays a year. If you risk going here go self catering as there are many nice eating places nearby and you are close to the centre. The sixties bar is great food and friendly. We would return to this resort but definately not Calleta Gardens which is dated and needs total refurbishment.

“Rooms-Food-Staff”

We found that the food was very poor on quality and selection. Also avoid the Studio Apartments, as you open the curtains you are looking straight on to wall as you are below street level. Staff had a "take it or leave it " attitude. Only good points were location and standard of cleanliness.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms would be best.

“Cheap and clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I stayed here with my boyfriend this month as a late cheap deal so wasn't expecting the Ritz. Apartement was clean and our towels were cleaned daily. We had a basement room and "terrace" which was large in comparison with the balconies others had (got the sun between 10-2pm in January). Thought we had got one of their more diffiuclt to let apatments (beacuse of the basement terrace) but having seen the size fo the other apartments this was not the case (they were much smaller). Rooms need upgraded but the toaster, kettle, fridge and sandwich maker worked (didn't try the hob). Room was quite adequate and what can you expect for £170 for a week? Swimming pool is about 15 meters long, unheated and would be unsuitable for toddlers but I managed to go swimming every day. It again needs some maintainance. Cannot say anthing about the food (as self catering) or the entertainment. On the plus side the hotel is in the heart of Caleta de Fuste and opposite a supermarket selling fresh bread. It is also a couple of minutes walk from the tourist information and the main pub and restaurant area. It is also about 10 minutes from the sandy beach and the main bus stop.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony facing the front of the hotel.

“Does the job”

Just returned from a week staying at the Caleta Gardens. Slightly dated, but nice and clean. i'm 25, and stayed with my mother (who is slightly older;)) in a studio apartment, no complaints apart from that we were on the ground floor and couldn't really make use of the outdoor space. Room was cleaned every second day, and towels were made available upon request.
Get up early should you wish a space by the pool, and slightly small, swimming pool adequate. Can't comment on the food as we went self catering and ate out every night. Evening entertainment very poor.
Majority of the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

All in all was very satisfied for the price we paid. Area was slightly quiet, but this would be due to time or year more than anything. Very close to supermarkets, bars (go to "The Wine Bar" next to the apartments and enjoy a glass of wine with Jayne) and restaurants (15 and Nestor's both a hit with us)

I would return, for the money we couldn't expect anythin better. Rooms were clean and spacious, beds fairly comfy, kitchen appliances good, and all within walking distance to the local bizz! Job done!

Room Tip: try and get a room on the first floor, better balcony for sitting outside. Take earplugs if going du...

“Great Location!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

The location of Caleta Gardens is great! It's a short walk to the beach & surrounded by family bars, restaurants & shops/supermarkets. Everyone in the resort & hotel were very friendly as well as personal.

We were all inclusive during our stay but ate out for lunch often, as we were busy during the day. The food was basic but nice. It was quite repetitive but okay for just a weeks stay. Most nights we 'tested' the alcohol!! haha. Every kind of drink was available on all inclusive & you couldnt tell the difference between english names & spanish. Toasties were also available all day from the pool bar & they were yummyyyy!

The sun only shines on one side of the pool & these sun loungers were taken very quickly. We mainly sunbathed on the rooftop where there were more sunloungers available & it was alot quieter. We also used the jacuzzi on the rooftop which was very relaxing.

The rooms were quite dated & basic, but sufficient for what we needed. My sister in law & I were a bit disappointed to not find a hairdryer in the room but you could either hire one from the hotel, or we brought one for 15euro from the supermarket & shared this.

We stayed for New Year and made our way down to the beach for fireworks, which was lovely.

I'd reccomend this hotel for a cheap & enjoyable stay.
