This was our second stay, as returning customers we knew nearly everything about resort, beach and surroundings. Hotel is very nicely appointed, well maintained grounds, plenty of palms, windy paths. Very clean.
We've stayed in the in the 2000s bungalow (on the groundfloor) with terrace to inner courtyard. Perfect spot, privacy, no walking around tourist.
January weather might be moody, so heated swimming pool is a plus. But plenty is screaming, rude polish kids not so much.
Overall we like the place and will be returning in near future. Ladies on the reception are wonderful (especially Kamila and Manuela), so nice, polite and kind, unfortunatelly I can't say the same about one man working there.
I found him very edgy, moody and sometimes rude. Seems I'm not the only one, cause guests were wispering on the reception, that person like this should be customers representative.
But well, next time when I have something to arrange at front desk I make sure it's not him I'm dealing with. Why cause yourself stress on holidays.

Stayed in the 1000 block across the road from the main hotel.We were self catering and had a lovely apartment overlooking the sea and rocks.Equipment in the kitchen was minimal but o k The bed was huge and very comfortable with good quality pillows duvet and sheets which you don't often find in self catering apartments.We sat on the terrace most mornings and had breakfast and fed the doves our leftover toast , most enjoyable. Apartment was kept nice and clean and the staff were very helpful

Went in Jan 2012 to this hotel with a party of 10. the group consisted of family and friends.We found the food excellent , staff helpful and apartments lovely.

stayed in a bungalow in the 2000s. very nice roomy apartment on the first floor with 2 sun terraces. We were a group of 10 having booked All inclusive - family and friends. Food nice and bar serving on tap San Miguel and local spirits to serve yourself.

A few bars within easy walking distance both ways - however DO NOT go to the Slap and Tickle bar - an awful, insulting foul-mouthed man running the karaoke.

amimation team at Barcelo Castillo Resort very friendly but not pushy. Would definitely got back to the resort and this complex, and would also like to try the Barcelo Fuerteventura which is next door to the Castillo resort.
