I have now stayed at Sofitel Gold Coast over 5 times and this latest trip will be my last. The staff are fantastic!!!!! The room was an excellent layout-RM414. The issues were; the outside courtyard was not clean nor was the towel rail, in fact you could see the black soot sitting on the rail. When we first got to the room it stank of cigarettes, does anyone check this? I thought it was non-smoking? There was also no robes nor slippers and when we requested an additional towel it arrived with a hole in it. The bathroom has mould within the silicon in the shower, not a good look from a 5 star hotel and none of this is what I expected from Sofitel as it is/was always our preferred hotel.
