“Great value for money and superb service!”

We were not expecting much of this hotel, really, even if it is 4*, becasue we got a great deal.
But it surprised us.
The attention to detail and the amazing courtesy and helpfulness of eac staff member more than compensated for the rather arid views and the middle-of-nowhere location of the hotel. We used it as a base to explore around in that region.
The spa was surprisingly good, for those prices.
The one thing that struck us constantly was the cleanliness, something that is a little lacking in general in Sicily!
The restaurant was quite good, too, if not a fine dining experience, but more than adequate for the post-sightseeing hunger pangs. And they lay out a nice breakfast!

Great little hotel for an economical but very satisfying stay if you are going to west Sicily for the beaches and the ruins.

“Good value for the money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

The hotel is huge. It is like an "all inclusive" kind of facility, with many activities planned for the guests during day and night, at the pool area and the bar.

The good:
Hotel staff is extremely helpful.
Very good location to visit Erice, San Vito Lo Capo, Scopello and La Riserva Dello Zingaro, as all of them are about 20 minutes drive.
Free parking.
Fee internet.
Very nice pool (but closes at 7 PM, so if you use it as a base to travel the area you will not be able to try it.).

The bad:
Breakfast is OK (there is very little left by 9:30 AM).
It can be loud at night, so it may not be the best choice if you want to sleep early.
You will need a car to go anywhere, even to eat out.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks its in a beautiful tranquil location with fantastic views and great swimming pool. The hotel was much better than I expected with large modern room great bath room. We used the hotel beach (shuttle service 5 mins transfer) golden sand great for the kids very safe area. Lovely little fishing hamlet 5 mins walk from the hotel beach my kids (5 and 9) loved rock pooling there. Staff very frendly great bonus they had a kids club which we did nt know about untill we arrived. I am surprise the hotel was not full.

“Bland and noisy Villa Zina”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2007

The website made Villa Zina sound like a modern, stylish, relaxing hotel near many sites and activities. In reality it is a modern block that is not very near anywhere (you must drive to absolutely everything) that doesn't have much character. The rooms are fine- pretty standard- and bathrooms are nice. The AC kept going on and off- freezing on minute, boiling the next. And the food is terrible- barely edible and quite expensive. Luckily, there are several nice restaurants in surrounding towns. The pool is big and nice enough, but loud music started blaring by the pool at 10 am with someone on a microphone yelling in Italian and getting everyone to do games and aerobics. Not ideal for relaxation. Hardly anyone there spoke English, though the staff tried to be helpful. Overall I'd say it's not the worst hotel I've stayed in but I would not chose to go back.

  • Liked — Nice clean bathrooms with power shower
  • Disliked — Everything else

“Great Hotel but not worth the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2007

Beautiful hotel. We had a family suite with 1 double and a bunk bed. The front desk controlled the AC so when it went off you needed to contact them

The hotel was very quiet but this was becuase we were visiting at the end of the season. It is a very beautiful area to stay in. 50 mins from palermo airport and 15 mins to the lovely beach of san vito lo capo.

Staff are more than helpful. Breakfast was not very good , they were serving up instant espresso

The swimming pool is lovely and the views are equally as good.

Although the pool is not heated it was still pleasent. It is in a rural area but within a very easy drive to some wonderful places.

We stay at other 3 star hotels which were 50 euros cheaper a night that were nicer and head a better breakfast. not worth the 230 euros a night they charged us. Try and stay in San Vito Lo Capo if you can
