We stayed at the hotel yesterday (20 August 2010). The first thing i recognized was the weird decorations... red velvet chairs, red lamps... kinda weird.
The rooms are not airconditioned and yes a big road is right next to it and during the nights its pretty loud and since you dont have a airconditioning you need to leave the window open.
Breakfast did not have to many choices but will definitely not send you on your way hungry.
They have a Restaurant there and we very much enjoyed our Dinner there.
The staff was nice and its close to Amsterdam. So if you need a place to stay and dont want to stay in the big city this hotel is definiteley recomened but if you want to stay at a nice hotel to enjoy some qualitytime hours i would choose a different hotel.

This hotel is convenient (less than 1/2 hour) to Schipol Airport. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was recently renovated, although air conditioning on the third floor will not be completed until 2011. The room decor was odd (brothel-like), and the bathroom was extremely dark. It was 32C the day we stayed there, and without a/c, the room was stifling and unbearable. Even with the window open, there was no air circulation, and the noise from the road was significant all night, so sleeping was impossible. We will not stay here again.

This htel is nicely decorated but basic nothing like the 4 star it claims to be. There is no air conditioning and as the ground floor rooms only have french windows onto a balcony fronting on to the car park and main rood, with no other opening windows, you are either stuffy (and smelly - people had smoked in areas of the hotel when we were there) or open to being burgled (at night) and extremely noisey. The basic decoration in the hotel also makes all door openings and closings extremely noisey.

I was just reading that Spanish review submitted before mine and have a hard time reconciling 'a must-visit' with my experience.

First of all, it is billed as being in the Schiphol (airport) area, just eight miles (13 km) from the airport. Maybe as the crow flies, but as the taxi drives it is very far and it cost me 65 EUR to get there (about 80 USD as of this writing). How does that constitute an airport hotel?!

Second is the food: just awful. And there wasn't even a menu in the room. When I called down to room service to ask about this, they didn't seem to think it strange and proceeded to read off to me their fare.

Third is the rooms: I can only guess that the interior decorator who did these rooms had previously limited his work to cheap Chinese restaurants: it was all dark red tasseled lamps and tacky and dark. The lighting was atrocious: just to be able to see well enough to work, I had to turn on every single light in the room and open the curtains. And if you are business traveler with just a laptop and a cell phone to charge, be prepared to have to unplug lamps just to have enough outlets.

I could go on, but I think you see the point: far from being a must-visit, it is in my opinion a must-avoid.
