Stay here occassionally when I need to spend the night in town rather than going home. The hotel is only a few years old and was built in conjunction with the new Rådhuset, or Town Hall. It's a very "green" hotel, ecological in every possible way, which I think sets the standard for eco-friendly hotels. The rooms are bright and airy and have all you need to make your stay comfortable. Everything is modern and of a high standard. Huge buffet breakfast is served in the ground floor restaurant, looking out onto the pedestrian precinct. There are plenty of other restaurants in the near vicinity, particularly recommend walking down to the "Brygga" or waterfront, where there is a vast array of eating ootions, all with a view of the river and with outdoor seating in good weather. The hotel has a good little fitness centre and there is a very popular bar ln the top floor with great views. The hotel offers good deals on weekend stays - don't be afraid to ask if they have any current offers at the time of your booking. Great service with a willingness to please, but don't expect gushing smiles - that's not the Norwegian way - quiet efficiency and an eye for detail us more the Norwegian style. There is a cinema right next door to the hotel and both the bus station and train station are a short walk away. Very good business facilities. Would recommend this hotel to business and leisure teavellers alike.
Room Tip: aask for a room on a high floor, better views, and if you're a light sleeper ask for a room away...
