Just returned from a sunny, warm wonderful trip to Morelia/Patzcuaro and Uruapan. The Mi Solar is a quiet oasis, close to the sights and main Plaza. We stayed in the suite which was on the top floor with lots of natural lighting, sitting area, very clean and spacious. The room included breakfast and you could order anything off the menu, which was very extensive and very good. Our Spanish is minimal, but Ismael, one of the staff, speaks English and is extremely accommodating. While in Uruapan don't miss the textile factory. They sell beautiful woven goods, such as tableclothes, napkins, clothing, wall hangings and rugs. Ask to wander around and be sure to go downstairs and watch them weave. The building is a photographers paradise. Also, don't miss La Huatapera/Museo de Artes Populares. It's a museum of indigenous artisans wares from around Michoacan housed in a historic colonial style building .
