We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. It is right in the middle of this beautiful town, and it was immaculate and modern. Breakfast (included) was our choice of several menu items. The hotel is in a beautifully restored colonial mansion w/ an interior patio and service was warm and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Mi Solar during the Domingo de Ramos Tianguis in Uruapan. We found the hotel to be conveniently located from the main square (about 3 blocks). Our room was quiet during our visit. The hotel has been beautifully restored. It had three floors with rooms built around an interior enclosed courtyard. Our room on the third floor had air conditioning which we used during our visit as it was warm. Breakfast was tasty with selections made from a menu that included fresh fruit with yogurt, pancakes, waffles, omelets, etc. We would definitely stay at Hotel Mi Solar again.

You can hear every single noise coming from the street. Our room was on the ground floor and we had only one window with "polished glass" so it was impossible to see anything even the sky to know the weather...
We asked to leave the hotel after the first night and it was imposible to talk to the manager. They do not respect the cancelation policy!
I think you should try another place...

Mi Solar is a true gem. A beautiful facility, large rooms nicely furnished, surrounding a beautiful Colonial courtyard, a friendly and helpful staff several of whom speak English, and a convenient location just a block away from the plaza. The pleasant hotel retaurant provides a good breakfast, gratis, and becomes a cozy bar from 6 to 10 P.M.

Uruapan is another Colonial city not on everyone's travel itinerary. But it is well worth a visit. The National Park is a wonder of nature with a large dose of engineering ingenuity producing a series of cascading streams and waterfalls. The local truchas (trout to us) have a well-deserved reputation for excellence, and are prepared in a variety of ways. A day trip to Patzcuraro by bus provides an interesting diversion, both for the town and the scenery between.
