If you like to stay at your Gran's house then you'll probably find this to your liking as well. The decor comes out of the mid 1970s, complete with plastic flowers, there are floral prints everywhere. Pink bathroom furniture. Comes complete with a charming and friendly mature host.
The landlady keeps the place clean, almost too clean, as there's a smell that hits you when you walk in, but it's the odour of polish and cleaning materials. Even the plastic flowers had been dusted.
Breakfast was no better than average. It failed my sausage test*, but they do serve decaffinated tea, which scored a hit for my wife.
We had room 8 in the annexe. I'm afraid to say it's a bit cramped. There's a four poster bed with a firm mattress, but little room to move around it (450mm at points.); similarly, the 'en-suite' has thinner people in mind as there's less than 350mm gap between the shower and the sink before you wedge yourself into the loo.
It's OK.
