We stayed here for one night in October 2011 after a booking mix up in Goathland. It was Halloween and nearly every Hotel in Yorkshire was full! We asked for a sea view and it didn't disappoint. The Hotel is just what you imagine when you think of a large english hotel by the sea. The room was huge with king sized bed. Our room was in the loft. Large bathroom, a little worn around the edges in some places, but well presented and clean. The view out over Robin Hoods Bay was one of the best I have ever had from any hotel. Spectacular. Buffet breakfast was well presented and plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and common areas in the Hotel were very oldy worldy with leather lounges, panelled walls and lovely fireplace. Maginificent location. Another night or two would have been great. Great spot to discover Robin Hoods Bay and surrounding seaside landscape. Only down side, fairly isolated, there is no town to speak of so if you stayed for a few days unless you drove, you would have to eat all meals at the Hotel. But the food was nice so this would not be a problem. But the dinner bed and breakfast option would be best as the evening meal was just a little expensive when purchasing seperately. Overall a greatspot for a weekend getaway with so much interesting history.
