We were so looking forward to staying here - great reviews, great pictures - but now we realise that none of the reviews are from people who stayed in the self contained gite. Quite simply, the gite is a dump! The kitchen is dreadful - the concrete sink is pitted and full of goodness knows what, the borer ridden boards that serve as a bench are disgusting! We covered everything in tinfoil and baking paper to try and make it usable. had we not prepaid, we would have left immediatly. The showers have exposed plumbing, none of the doors work pooperly and years of fungus ridden silicon erupts from everywhere. My children flatly refused to use one of the showers.

Out of the two double beds it was a choice between lumpy and concrete - not much of a choice. The 'courtyard' was overgrown with weeds and watch out for the stinging nettle hiding right outside the door!

The pool was great - but make sure you wear shoes on the decking - I spent the first night digging splinters out of the kids feet.

That said, the host is pleasant and the location is fine for exploring the region - but there must be better places for a family than this!
