“Perfect for family with children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

This is a beautiful hotel in a very beautiful setting. The hotel is perfect as it has it's own beach area so the kids can enjoy the beach and not have to be dragged around with sand, in car and for parents, they serve drinks on the beach!
The staff was extermemly friendly and it seems like that everyone was taking care of our children for us. Kids and grand parents are the center of attention in Greece, specially in this hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful with it's 5 pools and over sized chess set.
The room was perfect, we had a suite with both rooms being connected to the balcony overlooking the pool and the beach, so while our kids went to bed, we got to enjoy sitting outside, enjoying the view and drinks.
The beach is very quite at night so not recomended for young people wanting to got out, but the hotel bar is great, the bartender is wonderful and the beach has enough activities and water sports within walking distance to entertain the family.
Highly recomended for families.

Room Tip: Call them rather than reserving online, it was cheaper and we got better rooms.

“A pleasant stay in a beautiful hotel”

This was our third stay at the Santo Miramare and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first two stays. Our primary purpose was to visit friends on Santorini so we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel. Nevertheless we enjoyed the breakfast and especially the view from our spacious balcony. The staff was kind and helpful, even providing my husband with a foam mattress as he found the bed a little hard. I thought the computer access was reasonably priced and fairly speedy although we had just come from a cruise ship with overpriced extremely slow computer service so I may be a bit skewed in that evaluation. We enjoyed walking along the road by the beach and in the past we have also walked down the beach which is quite fun. There are lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance and we were able to park our rental car close to the front door of the hotel with no problem.

“A great place to celebrate my birthday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My wife and I chose this hotel based purely on viewing its website! We had a brilliant time. Opened in 2003/4, it is beautifully set out with spacious grounds containing three large swimming pools, a children’s pool and a spa pool (jacuzzi). There are plenty of sunbeds, large parasols, and many palms offering shade when the sun becomes too much! Across a narrow road from the pool area is a large expanse of beach (black lava sand of course – Santorini being a volcano!) for the exclusive use of hotel guests, again with plenty of sunbeds and fixed umbrellas. Towels for use at the pool or beach are available from reception and may be renewed every other day.

We arrived (by independent shuttle from the airport, booked on the internet in the UK) from which moment the staff at Santo Miramare looked after us superbly. The reception staff were extremely helpful with information about the island, bus services, taxis and hire vehicles, and any number of other things we needed to know to enhance our holiday. Our room was serviced every day, and always left spotless.

In the poolside restaurant a varied and plentiful self-service buffet breakfast was laid out along one wall, with tables inside and on a shaded verandah outside. The team there were very attentive, and quick to clear used crockery. They were especially good with the youngsters, and any older folk who maybe required extra assistance.

I had booked a junior suite – a rather grand description for our room – although it WAS spacious, with plenty of storage both for hanging garments and in terms of drawer space. We had a pair of twin beds placed next to each other, a desk with a chair, a settee, low table and an extra chair for relaxing in. Cotton bed linen was changed frequently, almost daily. The safe was simple to operate and a useful facility for storing passports cash and other valuables.

The bathroom was well equipped, with plenty of clean towels (also changed daily) and copious supplies (readily replenished) of shower/bath gel and shampoo. At the end of a hard day’s sunbathing there was always plenty of hot water– something Greece used to be notorious for not always providing! A powerful hairdryer was also provided.

The poolside bar, operated from 9am till after midnight, offering tea, coffee, cocktails, beer, soft drinks, and most times during the day, light meals and snacks, brought freshly prepared from the restaurant’s kitchen. Again, staff here were most attentive.

Internet access was available in reception, by purchasing a card for a set number of minutes’ use. We found the server a bit slow, but adequate for for occasionally checking or sending e-mails, and for checking in on-line before our flight home.

A (small) caveat! For a hotel of this calibre (it is rated 4*) I would have expected a small shop, offering quality merchandise, including items (clothing, mugs etc) carrying the hotel’s logo. The nearest ‘supermarket’ was a good stroll away and often travellers arrive having omitted to pack items such as shaving gel, toothpaste and so on). And it is surprising for a hotel not to provide its own car park, especially as there is land nearby which might be acquired for the purpose.

Room Tip: Most rooms look directly onto the pool area, but ours was on the highest level (of three) and had lo...

We stayed in this small, very beautiful and clean hotel in september 2011. All of the staffs are very polite, the whole hotel is very clean. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant of Santo Miramare are delicious, the yare offering a large selection of excellent meals (with fish, with meat or vegetarian). In the garden there were two big, very clean pools, one pool for children and one whirlpool. At the poolrestaurant you can eat fine snacks from 12.00 o´clock till ..... a very nice staffs servs the snacks and drinks also to the beach. We had a very nice room with balcony and a great view to the garden and the sea. The aircondition worked perfect. We can highly recommend this hotel and are looking forward to our next stay. Booking requests (email to the hotel) were considered.

“Ideal family holiday!”

We stayed in Santorini due to a family wedding. We booked with first choice and the flights were with Thomson. The leg room on the plane was appauling with a 20 month old on my lap however when we arrived late on in the evening the hotel had left us dinner in our room which we thought was lovely.
Through out our whole stay the staff were fantastic. They all were welcoming and chatty and loved entertaining our son. The food was lovely in the restaurant although if we went again we would perhaps not pay for half board as the meal are 15 EURO each. If eating out on some nights then this is a waste, may as well just pay for a meal at the hotel when you want one.
We stayed in a junior suite with a balcony which had plenty of room for us and the cots provided were nice and spacious so our son slept well. We stayed from the end of Sept until 4th Oct so as it was the end of season it was nice and quiet. There was live muic at the hotel bar on only one night of our trip but as we were staying near to the reception end of the hotel this could only be heard on our balcony and did not disturb our son. The rooms were nice and clean, linen changed daily and there was a great kitchenette area with fridge, sink and two ring hob. There were also cooking untensils, plates etc which was ideal with a little one.
There was never a problem finding a sun lounger however the pools were extremely cold so our son was not able to enjoy them unfortunately, our only complaint about the whole holiday! The beach was lovely although flipflops a must as the sand is extremely hot! The water was lovely and clean and warmer than the pools!
We wanted to hire a car which was sorted out through the hotel reception within minutes and at a good rate. We were then able to travel around the beautiful island, especially Oia where we were able to get our picture postcard photos! We would recommend taking plenty of money as in the tourist areas it can be expenisve to eat and drink but there are plenty of places to choose from.
In all a fantastic holiday, friendly people and would definately go back and stay at the Santo Miramere.

Room Tip: Junior suites have a kitchenette area and with balcony could always see our son. Beware there are q...
