This place is exactly what I needed - peace & tranquility. I wanted a quiet place to unwind and relax in an authentic mexican style beachside small resort. Friends recommended it and it could not have been any better. The hosts are so kind, helpful, generous, caring and accomodating. Jardin Del Mar is a special place - close to everything - a quick inexpensive taxi ride to Bucerias or La Cruz - I enjoyed my stay so much I didn't want it to ever end. Jim & Maria are the kind of people you want to keep in your life forever! I can't wait to come back.

Pluses: Owners are helpful with local information, location away from highway noise and on a fairly quiet beach, rooms are pretty with Mexican decor, 3 main rooms with ocean view are lovely; loud crashing waves can be heard all day and night, view of Bucerias and PV is pretty at night. Property is small but nicely landscaped, small lap pool is not heated so it is cool but refreshing.
Minuses; beach is covered in gravel and rocks making it unsuitable for swimming and walking in bare feet. 3 main oceanview rooms are clustered together so privacy is limited. The property is small so with more then a few guest, the grounds feel crowded. No amenities are within walking distance so renting a car is a must. The beds are very hard. Your sleep and relaxation are completely dependent on the other guests. We had noisy neighbors that had parties on their balcony every night ( owners were sometimes present at the parties as well) so it ruined our vacation.
Costs:
Cab rates: Airport to Jardin Del Mar $500 pesos, Jardin Del Mar to Megafoods (for groceries) $120 pesos each way. Jardin Del Mar to Buerias $70 pesos each way.
We would not return to this property due to the dirty rocky beach, lack of privacy of balconies and potentially loud or rude neighbors you simply can't get away from.
Overall we liked the room, view from the balcony and hearing the sound of the ocean. The owners cater only to repeat guests at this property.
We really wanted to like this property but were unable to do so because of the crowding, noise and lack of respect.

When we booked this place we got exactly what we were looking for - a great little getaway spot for a mini-vacation during our longer stay in PV.
Jim and Maria were most excellents hosts and really have created something special with their authentically Mexican decorated suites on the Bay.
If we are looking to do another mini vacay next year, we will definitely be booking here again.

17 adults and 6 small kids all stayed on site and had a small family wedding. The grounds were beautiful and the location was perfect. The outdoor kitchen was a great meeting place for everyone to enjoy coffee in the morning or drinks at night. The whole unit is very clean and the gardens are beautiful. The gardener and the housekeepers were great and very helpfull. I was a bit costly to get into Bucerias, Sayulita or Puerto Vallart each day because it is not walking distance with kids. The beach is very private and quiet. the kids had a great time on the beach and in the pool however, it is not set up for children under 5. I do not recommend this property to anyone who wishes to party or relax with small children. it is perfect for quiet family groups or couples.
