I just got back from my first stay at Jardin del Mar and I can’t wait to go back next year. Built in the style of a large Spanish villa, the house and casitas are spacious and inviting. The landscape is full of trees and flowering plants, which are almost as colorful as the interior of the rooms, decorated with local art, tapestries, and tiles. The property has many cozy seating areas, providing just the right amount of privacy for one or two or enough space for a group.
The beach is just a few steps down from the patio and is a great way to walk into the town of Bucerias. The town of La Cruz is an even closer walk and is perfect for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and local culture. If walking on the beach is too relaxing for you, kayaks sit next to the pool, available for free to any guests who want to take them out. Kayaking in the bay is exciting and I was lucky enough to see a flying ray and a sea turtle on two separate ventures.
I went down to Jardin del Mar by myself, but met up with a couple who have been going to this spot for years. Jim and Maria, the owners, are wonderfully hospitable, helpful, and fun. They obviously love guests, new and returning, and strive to help them make the most of their vacation. I felt very lucky to have found this place and to have met such great people while I was down there.
Jardin Del Mar is the perfect place to relax, enjoy the sun, and soak up some local flavor. I will definitely be back!
