“Wasn't the worst place we've had a family reunion!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011 via mobile

My family and I stayed here for our family reunion and lets just say we've had better times tent camping in the rain. The beds were uncomfortable (and I can sleep anywhere) and the rooms didn't seem too clean. I stayed in one of the motel rooms and we couldn't even leave our screen door open because there was a giant critter hole. My aunt and uncle couldn't open the windows in their cabin and left days early because they were so uncomfortable. The camp sites were very small and close together as were the trailer/motorhome sites...unfortunate for our large family.

This could be a nice place if there were more room and a little more care.

One positive was being right on the lake and having a great view of the mountain and getting to paddle boat.

“Great place to relax and fish”

We've been going here for over 20 years, and love it. The current owners have done a terrific remodel and improvement of what was a rundown property. The view is spectacular - from the motel rooms (built over the water) you can look straight at Mt. St. Helens past the far end of the lake, and once on the water you also have a gorgeous view of Mt. Ranier. If you stay in the motel you can fish right from your deck. They have fishing and pontoon boat rentals too. Think, "Neat Minnesota lake style resort." It's also on the way to the Mt. St. Helens Observatory. There are a lot of fish in this lake: bass, catfish, trout, bluegill, crappie, and perch. The lake is especially known for its fine bass fishing. This is our favorite lake and resort to visit. Being a technology junkie I would like for the wi-fi access to be improved.

“FANTASTIC time at SilverLake Resort in Washington State”

I have had the pleasure of staying at SilverLake Resort many times over the past years. The accommodations have always been top-notch and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Given the beautiful setting on the banks of one of the best fishing lakes in the State, the prices are more than reasonable.

The facilities are well maintained, with rental boats for fishing, pontoon boats for family fun. There's fishing from the docks and even some of the rooms!

I stay several nights a year in the cabins for an annual family Duck hunt. This is usually off season but you would not be able to tell that as the facility is still clean and maintained as if it were peak season. You cannot go wrong staying here. Great Family Fun!

Room Tip: For fishing from the room-bottom floor of main hotel. For privacy and a bit of semi-rustic ambiance...

“rundown, filthy, outdated!”

I must say this place has potential but is run down and not being tended to properly. The rooms were very dirty, mold in the shower, cob webs and spiders everywhere. I was afraid to crawl into bed wondering what critters I may wake up with! Our socks were black from walking inside the room, the toilet felt like it was going to fall off the wall. The view oF Mt. St. Helens was beautiful. The area that has the fire pit was nicely done and was probably the cleanest area in the "resort". It is a shame that the management is not taking care of this place as it could very well be a beautiful, fun place. The gal that ran the shop downstairs was very nice. Too bad......We will not be back.

Room Tip: Stay someplace else!

“Company Picnic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

We held our first all company picnic at the resort in August, 2011. It was a beautiful day and the view of Mt. St. Helen's was incredible. The resort staff were very helpful and attentive. Many employees stayed at the resort in cabins, motel rooms and RV sites. We loved the Paddleboat Cup and the nightly bonfires! Everyone wants to do it again next year!

Room Tip: Motel rooms with fishing from private balcony were the best.
