“Has potential, but needs serious attention before recommending”

Stayed for one night with a large family. The room itself was very spacious but overall it was very, very dated. The whole property and the rooms need some investment to bring them in to this decade, actually last 2 decades. The price was incredibly high given the standards of the room and the property. The service was also less than average.
Of all 15 places we stayed in on our NZ trip, this was the least well kept and overpriced.

“Spacious and easy”

We arrived pretty late, but Jim was relaxed about it. Parking is in front of the motel. The room (#5) with kitchenette was large. The bathroom was marginal and there was a slight musty oder. The location was perfect for us. We were happy to have the free internet and use of the in-room phone.

“Great Kiwi Motel”

I can thoroughly recommend the Acorn Estate Motel. It's a standard Kiwi motel. Large Car parks, great indoor spa, even a BBQ for use. The owner was very helpful and set up the BBQ for us.
The rooms were very clean and well looked after.
It has an outdoor pool which would be a blessing on a hot Maserton day.
Would be a great place or families as some of the units have 5 beds or more.
