“Loved the area, shame about Hotel”

Went S/C for 7 days at Eden Binibeca Club Resort. First night there i was woken up being bitten by hundreds of ants, there trail came from under wall and up the leg of the bed. My arms and neck covered by small bite marks. Reported problem at Reception who was fully aware that the ants can give cause for concerns. We were offered another apartment but the smell was so bad we hastily declined. Lots of rooms were vacant and most had a terrible sewage smell. As it was pouring with rain we took a room that was near ant infested apartment, making it easier to move our belongings.
No help was offered, they did loan us a large umbrella though.
Buffet food in Edens restaurant (eat as much) was brilliant, excellent service and all staff giving good customer service. Both of us thought this was the best all round meal we'd had in Minorca, and would highly recommend.
Hired a car which refused to go into forth gear, we constantly had to top up with fuel but we did get to visit some beautiful places.
Resort is very quite and comes with stunning views. This is our third and last time to the Island but very glad we have seen the all places we wanted to revisit, have some lovely memories and meet some nice people. Advice for those that's thinking of going is throughly check out Hotel, and take plenty of spends as it can be very expensive.

“Nice hotel, shame about the lack of communication”

We stayed here in September 2010 and found the hotel to be ok. When we booked the hotel, we requested a cot, however at check in the hotel had no knowledge of this and it proved a great hassel for them to the have provide us with a travel cot! We were also allocated a room on the first floor which made it particularly difficult with a buggy as there are no lifts. It rained every day and the hotel roof leaked, there was rain pouring in under the balcony doors which we had to ask for extra towels to soak it up and for it to be regularly mopped up.
On our check out date there was a Spanish strike, sadly there was no information on this on the hotel notice board which you would think there should be.
Other than that the hotel was nice and we would have enjoyed our stay if it hadn't been for the weather.
I would not reccommend this for families with small children as we have as it is not buggy or wheelchair friendly AT ALL! Binbecca itself, whilst picturesque, is a bit of a ghost town!

“Stunning views, beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

Loved our stay here, we had a studio overlooking the sea with beautiful views. There is a choice of two pools and the bar is reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food is average; we chose to stay self-catering. Would highly recommend this hotel.

You would probably need a car if you want to get around and explore, however there are buses that go to nearby towns quite regularly. Mahon port is definitely worth a trip. Binibeca itself is very small and only has a choice of a few restaurants.

“Not perfect, but pretty damn lovely for one reason or another”

Having stayed in the Binibeca area in villas and the Peublo de Pescadores apartments we decided to try out the Eden Club as there is no longer just the 2 of us.

Not dissapointed at all, despite the ants! Quite a few in the room, spoke with reception staff and before we knew it an army of cleaners arrived spray in hands, ants were no more, well in our room at least.

The locals were very friendly too despite the 'warnings' on previous reviews as were the other guests at the hotel; a mix of UK, German and Spanish.

The fixtures, fittings and furniture all needed updating yet the room was large, clean and beds comfortable. And we went for the area really and it remains stunning. Lots of bouganvillea, boats and hot sun. If you like a quiet hotel with decent food close to stunning sea and beaches, well it's just great.

Eating Out
When we go again we'll go half board as eating out is very expensive. Average 50 euros for 2 adults and small child. Buffet meal in eve at hotel very good as was breakfast.
Visited mahon, Es Grau, Cala Torret, Sant LLuis, Punta Prima etc and hired a car, all cool.

“Stayed at Eden apartments Binibeca for 10...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

Stayed at Eden apartments Binibeca for 10 nights at the start of September 2010. The apartments themselves are clean and spacious - though the brick floors were a little strange at first. The pools were never busy and were most welcome after a hot day at the beach. I'd estimate that about half to three quarters of the apartments don't have a stunning sea view - far more likely a flowery courtyard or the inner pool - however you're never more than a two minute walk from all the sea views you could ever wish for. We had an inner view - to be fair we were quite glad - it was nice and secluded and a great place to eat breakfast!
We self catered - we used the restaurant for dinner one night and it was very good - buffet style - but what a view of Binibeca. The bar cafe was excellent and we ate lunch there on numerous occasions - the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We ate out in binibeca village each night - all the restaurants were good but the real gem was the pizzeria in the square - a beautiful setting, amazing pizza and pasta and fabulous friendly service!! We became quite hooked on a red wine they recommend called Enate....and the chocolate cake.....wow!! In the same square is the Bini grill and it has to be said that this is an excellent restaurant also.
The local beaches were fabulous - the bigger one at binibeca nou had a waterspouts centre where we hired kayaks and a big electric bumper boat thingy. Great fun! This beach has a great little beach bar where you can relax with a coffee ( or something stronger) at the end of the day. There's also a beach a little closer to the hotel if you walk the other way (west). Both beaches are picture postcard with White sand and turquoise sea! I saw an octopus whilst snorkelling near the boats at the smaller beach. However the best snorkelling can be had about 2 minutes walk from the hotel from a little rock bathing platform. The sea is crystal clear. We even saw a cormorant under the water fishing.
It was just so romantic to walk down from the restaurants in the town through all the little alleyways of the fishermans village each night. Really beautiful, we had a great stay at Eden binibeca and look forward to returning as soon as we can.
