My husband and I were incredibly happy with this bed and breakfast. We were hoping to spend the weekend somewhere around the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro near the town of San Vito Lo Capo in Sicily... just to get away from it all for a few days. A friend from Palermo had recommended this place to us.
The best thing about this place is definitely the fantastic view over the Tyrhennian Sea! The B & B is perched on top of a hill that looks down onto the sea, so you have this huge stretch of azure water that stretches out to the horizon right in front of you. We spent the early evenings lying around on the chaise lounges in front of the house relaxing and staring out to sea.
We also had the best room ever which came with a private terrace that had its own view of the sea plus a little angle of chairs and chaise lounges for us to relax in private.A cool surprise was the private outdoor shower, which we used when the temperature hit 36 degrees celsius after a long day at the beach.
We found the rooms to be colourful, bright, simple, and clean. The lady who manages the place was very friendly and warm. And although she didn't speak English, she did make herself understood and us feel welcome. She even baked us a chocolate cake for breakfast! Our favourite! Breakfast in Italy is usually made up of sweets treats like bread with jam, or cereal with fruit, or a piece of cake or a croissant with a cup of coffee. They don't serve those big American breakfasts over there.
From Baglio La Luna, we were able to get to the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro in 5 minutes by car and we saw some really awesome little coves to swim in. For dinner we had to drive about 15 minutes into the town of San Vito, but we didn't mind at all.
If you're looking for an unpretentious place to relax in nature, far away from any crowds, where you can still hear the crickets sing at night, then I would recommend this place with two thumbs up!
But people who are looking for wifi access, the loud disco beach scene, or cable tv, would probably be better off in a busier area near the San Vito Lo Capo beach.
Room Tip: Ask for room with private terrace that has the sea view on first floor
