“A Disgrace....and it was our honeymoon”

We were recently in Sicily for our honeymoon and had made a reservation for a seaview room at Baglio La Luna. This was all confirmed by email. When we arrived to check in we were told they were full and we had been moved to an apartment. The apartment was dank, didnt have a seaview and they made no effort to resolve things (and wanted to charge us the same as a room with seaview - which is 10euros more than standard room.) We left and spent an entire evening searching for alternatives. Not only did they go back on a reservation they also knew it was our honeymoon and managed to steal a night of what should have been fun away from us. Disgraceful "service". Joanna

“A fantastic home away from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011 via mobile

I stayed at Il Balgio La Luna for 2 nights with some friends, as part of a tour of sicily and Il Baglio was the highlight of our trip. It's such a unique place that we didn't want yo leave and on the second day I even managed to wake up early enough to see the sun rising from the sea. The room was very clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. I've already booked a room here for next summer :)

“Great! Peaceful, relaxing!”

We really enjoyed our stay. This is a bed&breakfast where you can just stay around and read a book in the sun or the shade. It is quite remote, twenty minute drive from San Vito. An abolutely superb view on the sea and the mountain. The beautiful beaches of the reserve are a ten minute ride (sharp corners! drive carefully) and ten minute walk through the reserva away. Breakfast is simple, it is very quiet (apart from some evening noise from the animation in the resort a few hundred meters below). In juli, there was only one other family in this bed&breakfast. We can recommend it!

“A Charming & Lovely Place in Nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

My husband and I were incredibly happy with this bed and breakfast. We were hoping to spend the weekend somewhere around the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro near the town of San Vito Lo Capo in Sicily... just to get away from it all for a few days. A friend from Palermo had recommended this place to us.

The best thing about this place is definitely the fantastic view over the Tyrhennian Sea! The B & B is perched on top of a hill that looks down onto the sea, so you have this huge stretch of azure water that stretches out to the horizon right in front of you. We spent the early evenings lying around on the chaise lounges in front of the house relaxing and staring out to sea.

We also had the best room ever which came with a private terrace that had its own view of the sea plus a little angle of chairs and chaise lounges for us to relax in private.A cool surprise was the private outdoor shower, which we used when the temperature hit 36 degrees celsius after a long day at the beach.

We found the rooms to be colourful, bright, simple, and clean. The lady who manages the place was very friendly and warm. And although she didn't speak English, she did make herself understood and us feel welcome. She even baked us a chocolate cake for breakfast! Our favourite! Breakfast in Italy is usually made up of sweets treats like bread with jam, or cereal with fruit, or a piece of cake or a croissant with a cup of coffee. They don't serve those big American breakfasts over there.

From Baglio La Luna, we were able to get to the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro in 5 minutes by car and we saw some really awesome little coves to swim in. For dinner we had to drive about 15 minutes into the town of San Vito, but we didn't mind at all.

If you're looking for an unpretentious place to relax in nature, far away from any crowds, where you can still hear the crickets sing at night, then I would recommend this place with two thumbs up!

But people who are looking for wifi access, the loud disco beach scene, or cable tv, would probably be better off in a busier area near the San Vito Lo Capo beach.

Room Tip: Ask for room with private terrace that has the sea view on first floor

“Peace overlooking the Mediterranen Sea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

Wonderful cosy and familar place - beatiful roomes, and esential. You don't want to look at Tv here - and you can't - you don't come here for work, so no wi-fi. Forget about the rest of the world, and enjoy to be in on of Sicilys most beatiful landscapes.

Simpatic owner Daniela, takiing care of you - and wonderfull breakfast
close to the riserva dello Zingaro - no cars - wonderful in car-crazy Italy, but you can come here by car of course and park without problems
