“A Charming & Lovely Place in Nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

My husband and I were incredibly happy with this bed and breakfast. We were hoping to spend the weekend somewhere around the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro near the town of San Vito Lo Capo in Sicily... just to get away from it all for a few days. A friend from Palermo had recommended this place to us.

The best thing about this place is definitely the fantastic view over the Tyrhennian Sea! The B & B is perched on top of a hill that looks down onto the sea, so you have this huge stretch of azure water that stretches out to the horizon right in front of you. We spent the early evenings lying around on the chaise lounges in front of the house relaxing and staring out to sea.

We also had the best room ever which came with a private terrace that had its own view of the sea plus a little angle of chairs and chaise lounges for us to relax in private.A cool surprise was the private outdoor shower, which we used when the temperature hit 36 degrees celsius after a long day at the beach.

We found the rooms to be colourful, bright, simple, and clean. The lady who manages the place was very friendly and warm. And although she didn't speak English, she did make herself understood and us feel welcome. She even baked us a chocolate cake for breakfast! Our favourite! Breakfast in Italy is usually made up of sweets treats like bread with jam, or cereal with fruit, or a piece of cake or a croissant with a cup of coffee. They don't serve those big American breakfasts over there.

From Baglio La Luna, we were able to get to the Nature Reserve of the Zingaro in 5 minutes by car and we saw some really awesome little coves to swim in. For dinner we had to drive about 15 minutes into the town of San Vito, but we didn't mind at all.

If you're looking for an unpretentious place to relax in nature, far away from any crowds, where you can still hear the crickets sing at night, then I would recommend this place with two thumbs up!

But people who are looking for wifi access, the loud disco beach scene, or cable tv, would probably be better off in a busier area near the San Vito Lo Capo beach.

Room Tip: Ask for room with private terrace that has the sea view on first floor

“Peace overlooking the Mediterranen Sea”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

Wonderful cosy and familar place - beatiful roomes, and esential. You don't want to look at Tv here - and you can't - you don't come here for work, so no wi-fi. Forget about the rest of the world, and enjoy to be in on of Sicilys most beatiful landscapes.

Simpatic owner Daniela, takiing care of you - and wonderfull breakfast
close to the riserva dello Zingaro - no cars - wonderful in car-crazy Italy, but you can come here by car of course and park without problems

“outstanding location but....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2008

The geographical location is excellent with an outstanding seaview. Very calm and quiet (only some music noise coming from a touristic village few kilometers away).
The room was rather big but not very clean; the bed never made up, bathroom never cleaned and bathroom towels never changed. There was no bottles fridge.
Breakfasts into a lovely corner were too poor.
The owners did not accept credit cards. We asked to pay with cheque but they did not accept. Only cash payments (without invoice...)
The place could be great with some improvements in cleanliness and reception.

“Off the beaten path B&B with a great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2008

This is a very pretty B&B on the San Lo Vito Capo side near La Reserva Zingaro. You have to have transportation to reach it because it sits outside the city. They don't take credit cards. Cash only which I paid just before I left. The owner only speaks italian and romanian, but that did not stop us from communicating. The property sits on a cliff at the end of a residential drive. There is a parking area big enough for about 8 cars, but you need to make sure you reserve a space. It is extremly quiet with no crowds of people around. One of the beaches and the town is located about 6 km (1.5 miles) away. You have to actually hit the city limits before you make the right turn toward the B&B. If you prefer a more private beach and don't mind a small hike, La Reserva has a small white sand beach. There is a fee to enter the reserve.
