Stayed here with my husband for a 6 day ski trip in early April. Family run hotel by a really lovely couple who go out of their way to be helpful. Booked direct with hotel which worked really well and drove to the resort ourselves from Milan Bergamo airport - easy to do.
Resort is very small with couple of bars and restaurants only and several of the big hotels had already finished for the season. However, the advanatge of this was that the runs were incredibly quiet despite the snow being evcellent - we literally had whole pistes to ourselves. Loads of lovely long red runs, good for intermediates, although a limited number and we had skiied them all after a couple of days. The facilities up the mountain are excellent - wood fired fresh pizzas recommended.
Our room was large and comfortable. The spa faciliteis in the hotel are excellent - great after a long day skiing, although remember the Europeans are used to nudity in this situation - do not be suprised!
We stayed half board. Breakfast was a realtively small buffet but very nicely done, with everything you would want - cereal, fruit, croissants and scrambled eggs. All very fresh. Dinner was a wonderful help yourself cold buffet and choose hot starter, main course and pud at the preceeding breakfast. These were a little more variable, some slightly strange translations and some of the main courses not to our taste. Pasta choices very reliable though.
Good priced range of wines.
I had an accident on the penultimate day and broke my shoulder. The hotel were so lovely and caring.
I really recommend Hotel Andossi if you are visiting Madesimo.
