This hotel is near the airport which is a plus and a minus. The airplanes fly right over and it is very loud. Not many or any planes at night though so not that much of an issue for me. It is also has very nice rooms and an authentic Italian feel.
Free (spotty) wifi. Ask for a room near the lobby (floor doesn't really matter, but the closer to the lobby, the better).
There is a shuttle service that will take you to and from the airport for €6 per person, per way. It is hard to find and inconvenient because most international flights via KLM, Air France, and Alitalia go into Terminal 1, but the shuttle stops at Terminal 3. It runs every 45 min from 4pm to 915pm, and 605am to 1035 pm from the hotel to the airport.
There is a shuttle service that will take you to Central Rome (the Colosseum) for €12 per person, per way. The problem with this is - €24 per person, per day adds up. That money may be better used getting a hotel in Rome. On top of this, the major flaw in this shuttle is that it leaves at 11 am and 2 pm and leaves Rome at 3 and 10 pm. 10pm was too late for me as most things (aside from bars and clubs) close much earlier. An alternative is to take the Leonardo DiVinci Express train from Termino Station in central Rome to Fiumicino Airport for €14 per person, per way, but then you must either pay €6 for the shuttle service from the airport.
There are very nice restaurants in Fiumicino (see Ristorante de Ville), but the cab to get to them is expensive. Cabs in the area are VERY expensive as a whole.
In the end, I love this hotel, but do not like the location.
