We stayed here only because of its proximity to the airport. After 2 weeks in Italy, finalizing the trip in Pompeii, we headed to Fiumicino. This hotel was much newer on the inside than the outside appears. Unfortunately, the elevator lift did not work when we got there (it was locked, so the staff assumed it was not working?), so we had to carry the luggage 3 flights, that was the only downside. The staff was friendly and the newly updated accommodations were very nice. We got there much earlier in the day than we had expected, so we took a walk towards town. This proved to be a good idea as we found a nice little outside cafe on the harbor with one of the best meals we had during our entire trip in Italy. The shuttle to the airport arrived on time and delivered us directly to the terminal. The one thing I found a bit odd about that, one - they charge for their shuttle service and two - the shuttle driver changed the price once we got to the airport. We were informed it was 10 euros to go, but he said 15. We didn't argue, just forked over the other 5, though it was irritating.
