This is a nice place to stay for all the reasons mentioned by other visitors, but I was a little disappointed, and this is probably because I had too-high expectations.

Villa Mango is excellent for: its views, veranda for relaxing, friendly & interesting hosts, chlorine-free swimming pool, proximity to wildlife (howlers, coatis), and bountiful breakfast.

It was disappointing due to: downstairs from our room we heard sawing & construction as early as 7:30 am one morning and usually by 8:15 am during our entire stay -- I wished there was more consideration for our rest/sleep so that construction wouldn't begin until 9 am when we have breakfast. The housekeeping was not tops -- dirty floor mats in the bathroom were not changed daily but only flipped over. The breakfast was the same for 4 days straight. There were no additional amenities.

This is a great place if you like to be more isolated and if you like a very homey vibe where you feel like you are staying at a busy friend's house. Don't expect any of the amenities offered by more formal B&Bs.

I am writing about the property management arm of Agnes and Jo's business. We rented one of their properties for a year, and found both Agnes and Jo totally dedicated to providing a top-quality service.

Whenever we had any problem they jumped on it, with a professionalism and kindness that always really impressed me. All the way through the rental process, they were straight in their dealings with us, and with the owners, which made for a stress-free experience.

Our third trip to Nosara and second to Villa Mango: I won't repeat the other reviews, just make a couple of comments. Walking, i.e. no car (see below), IS possible if you are fit. We 'only' give 4 stars for location: three because it is set back a little away from the main 'beach' centre, but five stars as this means it's higher up and has amazing views - so average 4. Unusual bad weather needed a change of plans and Jo and Aynes - we count them as friends as well as hosts - were as helpful as ever. As a result we flew in and had no car.... means a lot of walking but it IS manageable: the deserted and moon-less beach we visited twice to watch the flourescence in the waves.

anges and joe do a wonderful job keeping guests happy and cared for at villa mango. the view is breathtaking, the room was very clean and atmosphere was warm and welcoming.
i would go back for sure...and i would highly recommend villa mango to anyone going to nosara.
