I have stayed here on stop overs while moving on to north Isaan.I found it to be a quality hotel, but a little expensive for Isaan,there are cheaper hotels nearer to the town centre but not as comfortable as the Laithong.The rooms are spacious and quiet and there is a good restaurant for buffet breakfast .There is some sort of night club /karaoke place next door, but I never been in , might be somewhere to pass the time in the evenings as there is not much in the way of entertainment in Ubon

The hotel is a bit run down - something at least a few decades old in style. Although, you realize Ubon isn't exactly a tourist hotspot.

Rooms - clean and very basic. Has a TV which works on and off. Nothing particular that stands out either good or bad.

Service - great, fun bunch of employees. Very friendly and willing to assist in anyway possible.

Price - Not very expensive for this place. One of the better hotels in Ubon and would stay here again if I had to.

Breakfast - nothing special. Wasn't particularly nice and just barely edible. Western menu is not impressive - would stick with the Asian breakfast choices.

Location - it is centrally located within Ubon city center. Again, not much actually to see. There are a few temples nearby but it is a much more rural community city rather than a tourist destination. Ubon lost a lot of it's visitors at the end of the Vietnam War (was an American Air Force base which is now the airport).

This is a 70's hotel and it shows- it's a bit battered, but we didn't care. For the money, it's clean, quiet, and comfy. There IS a disco next door, but it wasn't going while we were there. The staff spoke NO English, so our Taxi Thai had to do- and they were extra patient and helpful. We were near the top facing the street and the view of the provincial backstreets and wats was stunning. Breakfast buffet was fine. There's a small usable pool and they have bicycles for hire ( 100-200b per day). Loved Ubon and this rather faded but friendly hotel helped a lot.

Read the reviews and agree that this Hotel needs a Facelift.
Spent 2 nights here while visiting Friends, who took us to see the sights and Temples.
More geared towards the business traveler; had a bankers seminar on while we where there.
Clean and tidy but (photo included) some bubbling on the paintwork under the window.
The pool is definitely smaller than portrayed in the brochure.
The staff needed a little kick start; .........they all looked tired.
