“Good Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Got exactly what we were looking for - an all inclusive week to relax and enjoy the sun.

We paid an extra 20 Euros in advance for a larger room and feel that this was well worth it. We had a good sized room which overlooked the smaller of the two outdoor pools. The room was spotlessly clean, our towels were changed every 2nd day as were the sheets. The areas around the pool was washed every morning and the paths and walkways were brushed several times a day.

The variety of food was good, to be honest I'm quite a fussy eater but, with the exception of one night had no problems. All the staff were cheery friendly and worked very hard. The entertainment was not particularly my cup of tea, but I am aware that there are playing to a verity of people and nationalities.

“A bit disappointing...”

Had a good all inclusive week there mainly because of the weather! Positives were the great multi-lingual staff - they all work very hard, are so cheerful, and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel grounds/pool areas are very pleasant and the location suited us well. Only paid 20Euros for room on last day until 6pm and got vouchers for lunch and dinner. Food OK, plenty of it, reasonable choice.
Negatives: Arrived too late for any food although we were able to get one drink each from the bar. Room wasn't cleaned, just bed made, bathroom grubby, not cleaned properly. Drains smell bad. Not bungalows, more 3 storey blocks, some rooms had no windows!
Not 4* and poor for all inclusive in our experience.

Room Tip: We think families would have a nice suite but couples get a small dingy room.

“Most amazing holiday ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2010

We had our holiday cancelled due to Goldtrail going under so booked this 3 days before we went and wasn't sure what to expect.

Flew in early hours of the morning and nothing was opened apart from the bar next door which an is excellent family run bar where drinks are cheap cocktails 2 euro's but traditional where Mikos and his brother Emmanuel get up on stage and play the guitar normally followed by granddad who will dance the night away, the bar closed when the last person left and was really great.

The hotel the rooms were lovely and clean and communal area kept spotless, food was ok lots of variety. situated in a lovely quiet part of Crete not clubby at all. The beach was fantastic with many bars and a local market on route to the hotel where shopping is a girls dream for the fake handbag, sunglasses and clothes good prices but be warned that the shop owner dish out shots of Raki if you buy.

Bar staff at the hotel were excellent and staff were polite and friendly and knew us all by name. One small point agreed with comment on all inclusive and the drink situation. Pedro (barman) only one drink per person was stupid as que's we long as it got to 11pm. They run out of glasses although i do think that plastic glasses should had been provide around the pool area also were sun beds.

Entertainment was good and Mario made our holiday although limited and if the owners listened to Mario's advise and spent some money it could improve but was good overall.
The staff work very hard for little money (2 euro's and hour) and we gave them all our toiletries at the end of the holiday of which they did appreciate.

We were two girls in our late thirties and have to say it was an amazing holiday one we will never forget would recommend this hotel very highly.

“Welcoming hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

We landed in this hotel in unusual circumstances, we had originally booked for a larger hotel in the area "Gouves Park" who had overbooked and transferred us into the Lavris.
They said that this arrangement was only necessary for one week of our stay, after which we could move back if we wanted.
We booked an All inclusive holiday as we had done this for the past few years and found the offering at Lavris good if not spectacular.
After going all inclusive to Cuba, we had come to expect the world, but unlike Cuba this holiday did not cost the world so we expected less.
The All inclusive bar ran from 10am until 11pm after which drinks were chargeable (half price for all-inc guests). This was ok, as after 11pm I often went to the bar next door where a large beer (Mythos) and all cocktails were €2 each, bargain! The proprietor there is ace!
The only issue I had with the bar was that you could only get one drink at once, and the barmen became a little inquisitive / funny when asking for more than one. Surely, when you pay for all inclusive, you should get all you want and when you want!
There were various times during the day when you could not get food (normally for 1 hour either side of meal times.)
The restaurant food was excellent and varied.
The houskeeping service was inconsistent, sometimes average and mostly excellent.
The family owners and management were very friendly, it was clear they wanted us to enjoy our holiday.
The entertainment was cool as well, Mario makes the holiday unforgetable, especially if you get involved in his shows.
The rest of the hotel was always kept clean and overall our stay was pleasurable and we would return to this hotel if we went back to Crete.

I think the fact we stayed at this hotel for the full 2 weeks, considering we had the option of returning to the Gouves Park where we originally had booked after one week proves testimony to the fact we enjoyed this hotel.

“Fabulous hotel, staff and location - Crete is a must go destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2010

A really genuine family run hotel with outstanding cleanliness and staff. Crete is a wonderful place to visit and do not be put off by recent troubles in Greece. The welcome from all was very friendly and happy.
The accommodation was excellent, modern, extremely clean and plenty of room. All the necessary facilities- fridge, safe, TV, hairdryer etc were in the rooms. The en-suite had a great shower and fresh towels when required. We stayed AI and ate at the hotel all week. The selection of food was excellent- varied and catered for all. There was always several meat dishes, fish and a local area dish available. Plenty of salads and deserts also made the food very tempting!
What makes this hotel stand out for us though was the welcome, the willingness to help if needed and the genuine professionalism and friendliness of all staff- from the managers to the cleaners. The pools and all the hotel was exceptionally clean and fresh. The bar provided entertainment on a low level if you wanted to join in or you were welcome to just sit and drink. The hotel has lots of reception areas for you to relax comfortably in. I would not hesitate to go back and indeed will do!
