Stayed here for 4 nights, booked a nice arrangement. We had a standard room. They are big and have some great views. Some luxury rooms in the other building misses the nice views over the small lake. You can open the door from your balcony for some fresh air . The beds are normal size and just ok. We only missed the tea facilities. You can hire bikes everywhere, also the hotels have some to lent. Breakfast is certainly 9 out of 10 ! Dinner is also tasty ! But certainly not cheap!. Its 2 minutes walking to the little village and 5 to the beach.
In oktober its a easy going island , all the crowds had left and we had e great time walking and biking. Nature here is wonderful. Boat to the island cost 35 euro, they sail every hour.

We came here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Living in the Hague we were ready for a peaceful island break for a couple of days. We did realise things could be busy as it's peak season but did not expect to find a big top (circus tent) in the car park that our room looked on to!
The room itself was nice, we had a junior suite which was spacious with nice seating area and a large if rather plain bathroom. The balcony was also large (3m x 5m?) but again very spartan with no plants, a tiled floor and 2 loungers. I cannot really imagine anyone lingering out there as it just felt very empty, overlooked by other rooms and not relaxing.
Even if the circus left town effectively you would then overlook a large carpark and a gokarting shed which are not really vistas that you would seek out in a holiday. See attached photos.......
The water view featured in all the hotel pics is the view only from the smaller building inc breakfast area/restaurant. To have a room with this view you need to go for a smaller room the luxury rooms in the new extension all have less scenic views.
The service in the hotel was good, very friendly people but I think next time we visit one of the Dutch islands we would go for a car free one in hope of finding something a bit less built up and more rustic.
De Koog is a little charmless as well with a slight 'Torremolinos' feel . De Taveerne restaurant was excellent with nice vintage decor inside but again looked out onto a Texaco garage. Not sure what better hotel options Texel has we did cycle round the whole island and ate next to De Lindeboom which looked nice but again quite a town centre location with views of the council offices.

We stayed at the Greenside for a weekend trip in July. It is a very nice hotel, the staff is extremely friendly and helpfull without exceptions. The rooms are very spacious and offer real value for money. A nice bar area and good breakfast buffet.

Would really recommend staying here and will definately do so myself.

We visited this hotel during a weekend in combination their "Bike and Hike"-arrangement.

The luxurious room was very spacious with a separate sitting corner and little terrace. The bathroom was very clean and also very spacious with separate bath and shower. There was also free WiFi in the room: big plus for iPhone addicts :-) !!

For breakfast (buffet) there was a lot of choice! The 3-course dinner in restaurant Wambinge was also very tasty. The first evening we had to wait a little longer, but the second evening everything was served on time.

The staff radiated serenity and was really friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and the island of Texel. We will definitely come back again!
