“Excellent Hotel in a quiet town”

I think that this hotel was very good for the price I had it for. We have spend 6 nights in the hotel for Christmas and almost the whole hotel was booked out, but its not a very big hotel, so it was not over crowded.

The rooms are big, bright and have everything that you need. The bed was very soft and comfortable, the only i thing i had to mention is that they didnt have big bed sheets.

The breakfast was really big and you can order on request pancakes, french toast and many more things. For me it was one of the best breakfasts i had in a hotel.

The location of the hotel is beautiful, but not very good for if you have no car, cause its a 10 minute walk to the local bus and a taxi is kinda expensive in the area, if you need to go to Amsterdam and take a taxi its about 50+ euros (one way). You can rent bikes at the hotel and bike around the lake, which is very nice on a warm/sunny day.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends!

“Excellent long-stay hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I have been staying here 2-3 days per week for the last year -- except for the unfortunate weeks when they are fully booked and I have to go for second best hotels.

The hotel is 20-30 minutes from the business areas of Amsterdam, and a car appears essential. However the prices of all hotels outside the city centre are "normal", compared to the exorbitant prices that other hotels charge for a view of a canal in the city centre.

At the hotel Newport, there is usually a great view over the old harbor or the bay, from the spacious bright 2-room suites. It is always possible to get a good nights sleep in the quiet, comfortable beds. The kitchenette is not really usable -- two small hotplates, and no oven or microwave. However the restaurant is a good standard both for breakfast and evening meals.

The free internet, parking and movies make this really convenient.

I probably tried 15 different hotels in the region before finding this gem. Definitely my favorite hotel in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: The suites are definitely worth the extra small rate -- and often they have a "free upgrade&quo...

“Great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

We found a great deal online, stayed for 1 night, so that we could spend a day in Amsterdam. Hotel staff very helpful in giving us directions to connect to train into Amsterdam city center. This was the way to do it, because we had a car and parking is very expensive in AM.
Very clean room, large, amazing pillows, quiet, fantastic international breakfast, nice waterfront location. Highly recommend this hotel! Complete amazing value!

“half hour from Amsterdam airport, little slice of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

After a 10 hour flight, customs and car rental pick up, this hotel is soooofine, it was an easy drive (with GPS) from Schipol Airport. This is a super place to unwind and lessen the jet lag if you have the time to do so. It is situated at the end of the road on a little harbor with trees, birds and rabbits and great walking and biking all around. The beds are the most comfortable in all of Holland.
The breakfast was great. The staff very helpful.
The indonesian restaurant connected to the hotel is quite good, ask for "Eddie".
We made the hotel a base for a weekend of travel to Deventer and Zwolle, easy trips in the summer because it stays light until 10 pm.
Did I say the rooms are very large.

“Mind-boggling room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

AMAZING rooms, really... go there even if just for one night. What they describe as a double is a huge area with a walk in kitchen, sitting room with dining area and a pair of sliding doors to a separate sleeping area with the most massive bed you've ever seen.

Weirdly enough you wouldn't expect this when walking around downstairs where it all feels like a run of the mill conference hotel. Odd combination. When not there in the middle of a snowstorm I also expect the area will be quite beautiful and quite in the evenings, situated on the end of a small peninsula with the Gooimeer on one side and the marina on the other.
