“Ibiza”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2012 NEW via mobile

A group of me and my friends stayed at this hotel from 2nd May for a week. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Rooms were comfortable, however I did find broken glass in the bath tub! I reported this to the rep. Food was ok. Breakfast was always good with full English and continental alike. Snack bar beside the pool was good for lunch. Dinner however provided a poor choice with some questionable looking food and most nights was fish themed which didn't suit my husband. One night was a mixed grill which was the best night. Entertainment was more family oriented so if you are a group of young guys/girls go see the bars and clubs. Pool was freezing cold but you get used to it after a few days. Also if you are not much of a walker the ferry taxi and taxi's are good value for money!!

“Fantastic holiday at The Bergantin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2012 NEW

This is my third time at this hotel in nine years and its got better each time.

The hotel is in a ideal location, a stones throw from the beach and a 20 minute walk to the lively part of San Antonio, there are numerous bars, shop, restaurants on route.

The staff are what make this hotel, really friendly, helpful and a credit to the organisation. A big thank you to Isabella and Ismael to name just a few who made our holiday as great as it was.

Food is great, loads of choices at all meal times and a restaurant makes a comfortable dining experience. The all inclusive drinks were local brands, but they are generous with the measures and you can have pretty much what you want.

The pools are lovely, plentry of sun lougers. Three different pools, for different needs, e.g. active, relaxed and family.

The hotel is really clean and the maid service is very good.

The evening entertainment varies in quality, the outside entertainers were pretty good, but the inhouse was poor.

I would definately recommend this hotel, and will be returning. You won't be disappointed.

“such a good holiday we have been back twice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2012 NEW

We went to hotel bergantin for the first time in September 2010. At the time our wee girl was 1 years old and just finding her feet. We loved everything about the hotel, we got a great room on the second floor which overlooked the pool area and also the entertainment stage. It was perfect at night time for putting the wee one to bed but still able to watch the entertainment with a few drinks from our balcony. The walk into san antonio was a beautiful 20 minute stroll along a scrupulously clean promenade. The parks were great along the beach and the small beach you first come to 5 mins from the hotel was fab. There was a boat taxi which took you into san antonio from bottom of hotel, only cost a few euros and a wee adventure in itself. The food at the hotel was really good, plenty of variety and chefs on hand at evening time serving up from carvery. My husband is a chef to trade and had no problem with what was served up, we always found something good to eat for ourselves and our wee one. The main pool was brilliant sloped in lagoon style so there was no nasty deep bits to fall into, perfect for looking after wee kiddies who run straight for the water. The weather at that time of the year was a pleasant mid twenties and always had a nice wee breeze. We only went for a week and it went in so fast and we enjoyed it so much we decided to rebook for the following year. So yet again we headed back to hotel bergantin September 2011 but this time we went for 11 days. The standard was just as good as the year before and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. We are going to a friends wedding in cyprus this year so will not be returning but would definitely go back in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone

Room Tip: ask for a room with a pool view 2nd floor or above as you get to see entertainment stage at night sh...

“The Good and The Bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2012 NEW

Stayed here for a week with my mum and sister. The Good was good. All the staff where great, we rang for a special request and it was done as asked. The bar staff were great, as were the resturante and reception. The rooms were spacious enough. Two Double and a single for the three of us. The decor jaded but it was ok and very clean. Location is ok. Pools great however the main pool toilets were dirty at the end of the night. This is the main bar area in the evening where the entertainment is.
The bad was really bad at times. If you have mobility problems then the slippy floors everywhere will be a problem. The walkway to the main pool is like glass even more so when wet. People were slipping. In the main areas they not so good either, we had to have a hold onto mum to stop her slipping. Once was enough.
The walls are paper thin, we could here the couple next door brushing their teeth. i harmonised a couple of times with the girl next door when she was in the bath and I was in the shower. Their waste water ran away through ours. Noise towards the end of the week was unbearable at night and into the early hours, we were just off the main landing. Lots of people complained about the noise to reception and were offered the chance to move. We complained, however it was different guest the next night.
The entertainment was really bad and if you are relying of this for fun it was sadly lacking. Kids disco 8.30pm followed by the adults. Acts that were brought in were ok but the hotel team was shocking. They did a quiz at 10.30pm and because there were 5 kids in the audience they thought it was best they did a cartoon quiz with ten questions. There were loads of people taking part in the quiz and nearly every team won. They then panicked cos they had promised the winner allsorts. They had to share 1 bottle of champers and until they ran out, kids baseball caps. We thought this was 'the best entertainment' watching them run about panicking. The next show they did was Grease, it looked like it had been put together in the hour before. Lots of hotel shows are cheesey, fun and a real laugh but this was embarassing. The daytime activities were poor too.
The food, I had salad for lunch and dinner everyday. The food area is not big enough when the dining room is full, quickly running out of stuff. Not a big selection of food at all. Lots of fish, beef and pork with lots of fried food. The salad bar was good. Lots of fresh fruit but some of the days it was like they were waiting for a delivery cos there was only 2 different fruits instead of other days there were many different choices.
Breakfast was ok.
Some days there was'nt any soft drinks available and you had to leave the dining room and go to the bar.
It sounds like i have been really picky but the slippy floors, food and entertainment let the hotel down. You cannot help the noisey guests as long as the hotel deals with the problems. Go to dinner about 8pm and you will not have to join the long queue snaking round the dining room.
We would not stay here again. We did enjoy ourselves just felt it 'lacking when it could be so much better'.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the lifts and beginning of corridors. Wear shoes with decent grip.

“Great Stay - Lovely Pool area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2012

We have just retruned from this hotel. A group of 8 girls. The location was great for us as not right bang in the centre but about 6 euros from West End/Mambos in a taxi or 20-25 mins walk. Lots of bars in easy walking distance. Panffers was really good fun for a bit of cheese, we had some fun there.

Food at hotel was fine for me as I am not fussy and there was a lot of choice, I know some of the fussy eaters among us struggled but they found something. Snack bar suited everyone.

Staff all polite, helpful and happy.

Pool area was my favourite aspect to the hotel, 2 large pools one smaller childrens pool. Plenty of sunbeds. Very chilled out.

Entertainment I am sure is good for kids but we werent there for hotel entertainment - They were enthuisatic and friendly.

Rooms were perfect for what we wanted, comfy beds, cleaned daily and always hot water etc.

Overall really good stay and would stay there again!!!
