No air conditioning just one small fan, couldn’t sleep it was hotter inside the hotel than outside (and outside was pretty hot).
Pool = small/non existent.
Construction being carried out next door, woke us up at 7.30am everyday and I doubt it’ll be completed until the end of 2011 at least. Photos are very deceiving.
No entertainment.
Staff ok.
2min walk to main strip with all the restaurants, clubs, bars and beach.
Club Praia Da Rocha the hotel down the road from it (2mins) is 10X better, we were so jealous and it costs the same price. Massive pool, lots of entertainment, shop and own restaurant and bar. Spoke to people at the hotel and they loved it.
Even if you don’t stay there go check out the pool.
We should have followed the recommendations.
The Portuguese people are lovely.
Limited things to do, only one main club but quite a few bars.
Full of Irish bars and people, it’s like a mini Ireland no exaggeration.

building work still going on. pool area disgusting.the whole hotel needs a refurbishment. the only good thing about it is the location.

The self catering apartment was very spacious but everything was tired and shabby. The balcony overlooked a building site and the digger started at 8am promptly every morning! One night we were there the stench from outside was awful but we never did find out where it came form.
Our apartment (501) had a bedroom separated from the lounge by a curtain, a bathroom and a small kitchen.
The bedroom was OK but there was a plastic undersheet on the bed which was creased and torn and frankly disgusting, we took this off and substituted a throw we found in a wardrobe.
The lounge was OK but the TV hadn't been dusted under, the dining chairs were falling apart, the sofa had a throw on it to hide the stains and the balcony door only opened with difficulty.
The kitchen was small and new looking but the fridge was totally disgusting, the seal was split and hanging off and years of food was lodged in what remained. It was rusty inside and although it was switched on we never used it.
The bathroom was OK, the tap top on the cold water in the handbasin spun round and round so you had to clean your teeth in the water from the bidet or bath/ shower. The showerhead was so ancient it was laughable!
In all the place was clean for what it was and booked over the internet it was as cheap as chips, I would have been miffed if I was there for a week but for the 2 nights we stayed it was average.
Location was great ansd Praia de Rocha is a really nice holiday resort.
Would I stay there again? Possibly if I was looking for something cheap and handy to the main attractions.
