“Good Location if weather is good... not 4star luxury”
My husband & I stayed here at the end of October 2011... I'm a teacher so got a last minute deal in half term hols... we were really excited, the reviews made me feel better... As we got to Faro there were lots of issues due to the weather (the roof had flown off in departures)... we eventually got our transfer with a mad man driver... he had done a double shift as the other driver had not arrived.
Thankful for being alive we got to the hotel, it looked ok... we checked in & then went to get something to eat... As we walked down the parade, we thought we were in blackpool, very tacky pubs & nightlife...food in burger ranch was horrendous.
I was slightly worried now... we got to our room, very basic & old looking... we were given twin beds even though I had requested a double.
They could do nothing that night as the manager was not there.
Next day spoke to the manger Jouge I think, very rude, did eventually give us a double bed... Only a few of the staff on reception were well mannered, the rest just rude.
I have been on many 4-5star hoildays, but this one was nowhere near a 4 star... If you do want to visit the algarve & the weather isnt great, stay in Portimoa or Albufeira.
Overall we had good trip as we planned day trips out nearly everyday.
Food around Hotel is a hit & miss, but there is an amazing italian called Dolce Vita - or something like that... It is opposite the casino.
Avoid this are if you are not keen on seeing English ex pats... 90% of people we saw were from England.
Room Tip: A sea view is better, but if you are not bothered about paying the extra ...don't , as all rooms...
