“Great value for money”

We have just spent a great 10 days at this hotel. It was great value for money at about £500 for 2 adults and a toddler including flights. We went self catering and found the kitchen well equipped. It was a huge appartment and they provided a cot. It was cleaned every 2 days and sheets changed once a week. It is in a tiny place with a few bars and restaurants around. The fish restaurant on the beach is lovely. You can also walk to the bigger resort but we did not particularly like it there. We hired a car for the whole time and there are loads of things in driving distance from there. Carvoiro and monchique definatley worth a vist It is a great base for seeing the Algarve. At this time of year there were loads of sunloungers and the pool was clean and empty. You can see the sea from the pool which was lovely.Nice kids pool too. Apart from one taciturn man on receptio I found the staff friendly. The beds are hard though and no aircon or fans so probably very hot at height of season.

Room Tip: We were in block 2 which was great with a sea view from balcony

Stayed here for a week self catering and was happy with the apartments.

To many people go on holiday expected the world but you get what you pay for and all we needed was a base. For the price we payed we were more then happy and would recommend it.

The aprtment was massive, was clean and had everything we needed.

“Sept 2011 Review - Pretty Decent Place Actually!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Okay... This place actually isnt at all bad... for those that have complained in the past... dont be such cheapskates and pay more money next time! For the price of the accomodation this is a very decent set of appartments and complex.

Below are the good and the bad about the apartments, the area, and Portugal in general!

Good
Large Bright Rooms
Clean, good maid service with change of bed linen once and towels twice during a 1 week stay
Well equipped with enough to cook in evry nigh if wanted (but no oven! - they will provide microwave if asked)
Good facilities on site with nice playground, pool and decent cafe on site
We arrived at 12.30pm and they stayed around for us and helped with directions in... was a little grumpy but hey, they should have shut up and gone home by then so we were happy!
Gave us a shower room on last day even though we had to check out by 12 our flight wasnt till 10pm... so were good with this (just keep some towels or they may charge you for clean ones!)
Very close to beach, looks miles away but just 5 mins stroll down the hill
Decent bar and restaurant just down the road but is a chilled out place not for partying!
Lots of little hillside walks and areas to wander to
Very quiet peaceful area which is great if you just want to chill
Weather was fab but guess thats more luck than anything
food and drink reasonable prices, we managed then week on just £400 for the 2 of us with a drive and trip out somewhere every day but we did cook in a several times

Bads
Car hire companies are shocking - very expensive and beware of small firms - i recommend using Auto Jardim, they are the biggest portuguese firm and dont request cash/credit card deposits etc - but be wary of insurance/excess charges with whoever you use
Signposting is poor, portugal in general is pretty bad but finding the apts by car was a nightmare! fortunately we managed to speak to reception on our drive in and get directions as the address on site takes you miles away! the address is best found using the town Alporchinas - directions from the town centre then see you turning right up the side of the intermarche supermarket, 3rd left then 1st right
appartments are very echoey so if you get a noisy neighbour its pretty bad... but then thats the same case anywhere really
Area is very quiet - we were ok as werent after a huge party hol and had the car to explore... but DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE WITHOUT A HIRE CAR... unless you want to stay on the beach all week!!! there is nothing to do other than laze and stroll about - if you want action or have kids i suggest a little village called Carvoeiro??? beautiful little place and plaenty of little cafes/bars/shops/restuarants. the area round by the terrace club is dead

All in all a nice place to stay for a chilled out feet up place, i wouldnt stay here with the intentions of an action packed or big family hol but for a lazy time its perfect

“'Good value for money, clean and close to the beach'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

I wasn't expecting much from this hotel, but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are very spacious and clean, room service was every other day. We had a sea view and the balcony was lovely and spacious. After reading some reviews here I thought they only changed the towels once a week, but the maids actually changed the towels after 2 days, so it was better than I hoped for. The only complaint I have is that the shower seemed to go cold after 10 minutes of using hot water. We didn't complain because we thought that might be normal as the boiler looked small and maybe it didn't heat up much water, also when the water went cold it was an ok temperature, I guess that's because the weather was warm. I don't know what the breakfast was like because we went self catering and bought food from the supermarket (which was nearby). The beach is really close to the hotel and it's lovely, better than I expected. The location is very quiet and I didn't see many buses, so I would recommend hiring a car. Albufeira seems to be the most lively area in the night, so we went there most nights, it's about 15/20 minutes by car. We went on the second week in September and the weather was really hot, reaching 30°C. It was sunny everyday apart from 1 day when it was really cloudy but still warm, never rained. Overall I'm happy with the service I got for the price I paid and would stay there again.
