When I decided to go visit Salento, I did some extensive internet research to ensure my week off was going to be in a relaxed, fresh and clean setting, with a "local feel".

Masseria Marianna delivered all that and more. A comfortable one- hour drive from Brindisi airport, once you arrive at the Masseria Marianna you leave all your worries behind.

The buildings are beautifully simple, built in the local traditional style but also fully adapted to modern day needs: air conditioning, flat screen tv modern (if a bit small) bathroom.

The grounds of this agro-tourism paradise are stunning: olive trees, leander plants, pine trees, an outdoor bbq.

Very importantly, the staff at the Masseria made our stay ever so pleasant by recommending good local beaches, restaurants and bars.

This is a holiday for those preferring an alternative to a hotel stay. The place is quiet and relaxing, the staff are there to help and for the duration of your stay you feel local. The Masseria Marianna is also family friendly.

I am already planning to go back.
